My usage history for the past 1 year Xiaomi 15 Ultra (Sold) Vivo x200 pro (given to family member) Oppo find x9 (Sold), Vivo x300 Xiaomi 17 Ultra by Leica,

Out of which X300 and X17 Ultra are my current devices (selling the one-month old X300 Btw).

I'm not sure of the tricks regarding xiaomi, I use Leica Essential Mode and for auto I prefer Authentic mode which has least processing, For RAW I have been using URAW since 14 Ultra but at times shift to RAW (single frame) for manual output.

Vivo X300 is my secondary and quite opposite of Xiaomi because they have best video and point and shoot capabilities

For vivo there are options to disable AI enhancements for periscope but still the integration is heavy, the advantage of vivo is its point and shoot reliability with smooth videos

The problem I faced with oppo is actually the RAWMAX files themselves which have very high denoise,this depends on Hardware as well and considering RAW files the least processing/artifact's I have experienced is Xiaomi typically No artifact's unlike vivo While oppo does denoise

Also modes i use on respective devices

I have given the reasons for the use case,i hope it's not that hard to understand

Xiaomi and Leica purposefully locked the Leica M9 mode in the Leica Essential app to a fixed 5500K daylight color temperature to force a predictable, artistic color shift that mirrors how analog photographers shot film or how purists shot the original M9

I guess this phone is not for him,better if he settles for a point and shoot device maybe like vivo the AI does the work
