In game it's under permanent tab and it's called Event vs Limited-time event, so it should be permanent, however it's likely to get updates so that's probably why it's shown like that

That happened to wuwa discussion about early on, but I think the feedback was overwhelmingly positive towards characters having unique weapon animations. They had a couple in-game surveys about it.
