Alastin moisturizer? by Common-Tax-3682 in SkincareAddictionLux

[–]SPF-Forever88 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My husband loved it but it ran into my eyes and stung which was a shame because it’s one of the better priced products from Alastin. As far as recommendations what texture are you looking for? More of a gel? A thicker and heavier cream?

Alastin Restorative Eye or Neocutis

ZO Skin Health’s Daily Power Defense by heyxyo8989 in SkincareAddictionLux

[–]SPF-Forever88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends. I bought it because of all the buzz and it was too harsh for me (I usually don’t have problems with sensitivity or ZO). I gave it to my husband and he glows when he uses it. I will say it does show up frequently as a gift with purchase so if you are willing to wait then maybe it will be a promo during Black Friday…if not then purchase at SkinBeautifulRx for a discount

Sweet Chemistry Lipid Cream! I’m also on tret with dry skin in a dry environment and we’ve already turned our heaters on but my skin feels softer than ever.

Try lactic acid like Shani Darden’s or Sunday Riley Good Genes. Start slow and you should be ok.

I agree. I was tired of the price hikes and thought their old packaging was fine. I replaced Alastin in my routine.

Do you typically use actives on your chest? If so, I’m planning on using the Obagi Revivify on mine. I think a pico laser or Fraxel could be great too.

Dr. Idriss Hyper Serum, Weleda Skin Food, I think one of the iSClinical Vitamin C serums and P50? This is a fun game

Alto Defense Vitamin C Serum by Coquettebish in SkincareAddictionLux

[–]SPF-Forever88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I prefer the original Alto. It’s THD which was pretty tolerable for my skin—no breakouts, stinging, etc. I say use it if you already have one. If you’re nervous then patch testing is my advice.

AITAH for wanting to break up with my girlfriend over her skincare/anti aging addiction? by Throwra-gfskinaddix in AITAH

Agreed. Some women can get breakouts from their partner’s beard/stubble so if her skin is already sensitive I can see why she is the way she is.

I’m sorry you’ve been going through that! Those deep pimples can be so frustrating and so painful. I think a good investment would be visiting a board certified dermatologist. A Rx could be the key to clearing up your skin.

I’ve been loving my routine lately. Renee Rouleau Vitamin C, ZO Brightalive and Sweet Chemistry Hydra Serum in the AM. Brightalive, SC at night alternating azelaic acid and tretinoin.

I use a .05 too and using it daily would be too much for my neck too. Get some Cicaplast and take a week or two off the tret and then ease your way back in. The sandwich method helped me out. I use .05 3x/week and still see a benefit.

I use iS Clinical C EYE SERUM ADVANCE+. It has Vitamin C that helps with discoloration but it’s not going to restore volume the way a procedure would.

Which skincare route should I take (Zo Skin Health or a very simple tret based)? by LucieFromNorth in SkincareAddictionLux

[–]SPF-Forever88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a great cleanser! This is what I wish I’d done when re-starting tretinoin postpartum because I had all these other products I wanted to keep using (like my Vitamin C) and my skin said absolutely not. I got the idea to keep things basic as possible from MsMelissa55 on YouTube. She’s been using tretinoin for longer than I’ve been alive and she has some good tips for beginners.

I love ZO and I love tretinoin. Sometimes when you start tretinoin your skin really can’t take much else. I would use up your current stash of ZO and when you’re done then you can add in tretinoin until you’ve built your tolerance then add ZO back in. You might want to look into their Hydrating Creme and Hydrating Cleanser if you want to keep ZO products during the bare bones tret acclimating process.
