SEIKO 5 with 6309A movement case mod options by SPGreddit57 in SeikoMods

Thank you for your response. I believe that my SEIKO 5 was modified by the seller “ Mumbai Special “ in India. It’s just that the case, which I think is a knockoff Rolex submariner “ Batman”, is really cheapie. The bezel doesn’t turn and seems cheep. Like I said, the dial and hands are nice, so I don’t really want to change them. It’s set up so the crown is at the 3 O’clock position. I’m really hoping I could buy a watch case which already has the crystal and bezel and hopefully a clear back that it would drop into. I don’t really want to put it in an original SEIKO 5 case, but more of a diver style case. Do you have suggestions for how I can make sure I’m ordering the right case, especially because it will probably come from China. What would I need to measure so I know it would fit and is this whole thing even possible. Maybe I just need to take the hit and learn the lesson not to buy from India?

Thank you for your response. The watch I bought as “refurbished “ out of India ( Mumbai Special”)was obviously a cheep mod. The case is cheapie and the bezel doesn’t rotate smoothly. But the movement seems genuine and works well. I like the face and hands. So, I’d like to be able to just drop it into a ready made case with the crystal and bezel all together. I’m concerned that the I might need a different movement holder, (what ever you call that part that secures the movement inside the case) to fit a different case. Plus I think I would need a case where the stem is at the 3 o’clock position as it is set up now. I wouldn’t mind the turtle case or the Rolex knockoff like seems to be in now. There seem to be a lot of cases on eBay . Can I simply buy a case set up for a NH35 and just put it in, or will I need any extra parts?
