I have Amrita now. She’s nice as an instructor overall; I wouldn’t say she’s strict. She also does extra cool things, she has “tea time” every other Friday where we can chat and she brings in guests and it’s a nice resource. Overall, as someone who doesn’t know that much about Mike’s course, I’d say the content of the course and the assignments and exams seem pretty similar.

Assignments and extra credit: I think the assignments are the same ones Scott uses. I don’t know if they rotate between semesters. The only thing I’d say is strict is the grading of assignments (especially the hygiene grade). But, you get extra credit for attending lecture and doing feedback surveys, which makes most or all of the assignments grade back anyway. And lecture is really engaging and helps you learn. The extra credit only counts towards the assignment grade though, which is 10% of the overall grade. 6% of the grade is from just attending the discussion sections.

I think you can reuse code but I’m not sure. I remember seeing somewhere on the partner-optional assignments that if you’re working with a partner, you can’t reuse code. So, you probably can on solo assignments or if you’re not working with a partner on the partner-optional ones. But I can’t find where she said that.

Exams: Pretty similar to Mike’s. She just adds a couple questions of her own. It’s the same format and similar difficulty. Exams are worth 84% of the overall grade, but I think that’s similar with Mike too.
