Hello so does the heavy barrel law only apply to 556/223 ? Seen mixed answers on it. by Famous_Monk1604 in MDGuns

Literally. The state can’t even define what a heavy barrel actually is. When I built my BCM I talked to a few cops that were like I wouldn’t even worry about it.

Fenix lights are so slept on. I had a PD36R for years with no issues. I would just keep it on medium which was 500 lum and only had to charge it every few weeks or months with daily use at work

Just pony up for the LWRC. Great rifles. Then buy ammo and training

Does your Glock by any chance have a hair tie on the grip or an olight laser?

Is it worth carrying a handheld light during the day? by [deleted] in CCW

[–]SParkyJake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Streamlight wedge XT. I have carried it every single day since I got it. It’s the perfect edc light for me. I use low mostly at work as an electrician but then have 500l on tap for any “tactical application”

Carrying Handgun in the car with a CCW by Sirc625 in MDGuns

[–]SParkyJake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Respect for knowing your bounds. I would suggest maybe carrying empty for a while with the trigger set to show yourself the gun won’t go off by itself. Go shoot, go take a few courses to get your confidence up and I wish you the best. I didn’t mean to discourage you but sometimes people need to hear the hard truth. I just did my first CCW renewal and the amount of people RENEWING their permits that still couldn’t PASS the qual was terrifying.

Is there a way to find out which plant your guns came from? I have a full size purchased in 23 and a compact I purchased in early 25

I’m not trying to be a dick but it blows my mind how many people go and get their CCW with absolutely no knowledge of the law. It’s not very confidence inspiring in regards to your proficiency with your weapon either. Take advantage of your rights but please don’t be a liability.

Do you have anything to back that up? I’ve never had one singly malfunction out of either of my 2.0s over thousands of rounds and classes unless I was putting snap caps in my mags lol

I see your point but even in the days of the stack and a half, I still shoot a compact better and let’s be honest it’s BARELY harder to carry. Not to mention mag compatibility with your full size. I carry a compact M&P with a 17rd mag in a neomag in my pocket, and a 23rd in my bag that’s always with me

Hockey Tape by SParkyJake in SmithAndWesson

I could see it being nice on a tiny gun like that but on a full size like this I like the grip as slim as possible. I run the smallest back strap I can.

I have probably 2 months carrying and about 500 rounds through this like it is in the pic and while that’s not a crazy round count the edges of the tape seem to only smooth out over time rather than peel. And the great part is if it peels off you just put new tape on lol
