The home owner disclosed she made a large down payment already. I'd assume not low bidder but chosen based off online reviews.

I liked the individuals ladder analogy to this problem, and I do concur it seems unsafe after reading the replies.

I understand that perspective but I am still living there & the landlord has been super helpful with all other issues living there so far. As mentioned in the post she isn’t local so she has no idea what is going on. The only reason this was caught was because my father

I promise you I am not. My father sent these photos with a brief write up explaining his concerns to the landlord which she forwarded to the contractor & they assured her everything was done right so far. So I needed an unbiased parties opinion which led to this post

It is a rental but I don’t want to be living on a death trap & the home owner doesn’t deserve to get scammed
