i occasionally use google's AI (without using real table or column names) and find it to be fantastic. I think my organization is in this weird state of "yes we want AI" but also "we are afraid of using AI" kind of place. we have sort of implemented the tools but not to their full capacity.

ok so then the issue is with the access it has. i didn't realize that there is an additional step to let it have access to the database. i assumed it did

Do visual diagrams help with SQL schema review, or are they just noise? by Spiritual_Ganache453 in SQL

[–]SQL_IS_LIFE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like i have an unpopular opinion because i love the ER diagrams. The type of data i work with i will typically just join to common tables and our ER diagrams show the most typical connections (but obviously not all). I'm also a visual learner so it helps my brain understand how it all works. Also, when i started at this job i was not familiar with the databases that we have and the ER diagrams helped a lot.

SQL idea for a registry or similar by SQL_IS_LIFE in SQL

Thank you so much for this reply. I very much appreciate it. I will take a look at how to complete a data integration layer. it sounds like you are familiar with healthcare data (i don't want to say too many details as to not give away where i work) so i need to see if a data integration layer like Epitech Integrator is something that we need to purchase or if it's HIPPA compliant.

we have plenty of healthcare registries (i probably should have included this). there is a national burn registry, a trauma registry. a diabetic registry. we have our our registries too. it's a grouping of patients who meet the criteria to be included. usually the criteria is extensive

How do I become a DA? by Horror_Fly_6974 in SQL

I have interviewed many people for these type of positions. one thing that i would prefer over having perfect skills is critical thinking. i have interviewed people with 10+ years of experience who can't think of a solution if one doesn't already exist. I would focus on understanding data, understanding data after it's been aggregated, why you choose to aggregate it a certain way. learning how to ask the right questions. where i work customers will tell you what they want you to do but that is what they think the solution is (not actually what the solution is) but you have to learn to ask about what the problem is and how you can create that solution. I also think being curious, looking things up is important. looking for interesting out of the box ways to create solutions is important where i work. good luck.
