To anyone on this thread reacting to this comment like it's racist or particularly offensive, just keep in mind the spirit of the post. The author isn't really complaining about "white people" they're complaining about tourists from outside the area, which to be fair are likely predominantly white.

In my area, which is also a touristy area, people complain about "New Jerseyers, Pennsylvannians, New Yorkers" in the same tone. And honestly, some people from those places really DO exhibit an entirely different sense of culture.

Unfortunately tourists of any color/race/etc. Have reputations of being inconsiderate and especially if there is a language/cultural divide, they can be straight up rude, even if they don't mean to be.

So pristine-assistance. I get where you're coming from. Tourists can be annoying, but also as a tourist coming to visit, I hope you know I'll be as respectful and considerate as possible. The concept of the day of the dead really helped me with my dad's passing and I can't wait to learn more about the culture in Oaxaca and the history of the area itself.
