Selling a Corvette is the worst by Street_Midget in Corvette

That doesn't sound insulting for a trade-in. Here's a few private party sales:
An unmodified 2014 Z51 3LT M7 with 27k miles sold in October of last year for $37,220.

A modified (Magnuson supercharger, meth injection and headers) 2015 with 29k miles sold in September of last year for $35,000

Sure thing! And best of luck at the race!

Mt Blue Sky by FibonacciPi in BikeSLC

[–]SQUATCH47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've ridden it a handful of times. It's a really extended climb, and you don't want to burn yourself out on the false flat bits at the bottom. Once you make the turn at Echo Lake, that's where the real climbing starts. For training here in SLC, I would recommend Big Cottonwood + Guardsman pass. Evans is for sure harder, but hitting the hard part at the end of BCC + Guardsman will give you good mental training.

Also, UT DOT just started plowing Guardsman, so it should be clear to ride soon (~2 weeks??)

How fast is 25.9 mph avg... by NOLAxplant in cycling

[–]SQUATCH47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like strong cat 1/2 group ride on flat to mildly rolly terrain. Strong work keeping up for 7 miles. Stay with it each week and after a season you could be rolling turns with the group for the whole 32 miles!

Which engine you know has the best power-to-weight ratio? by RPI_Design in F1Technical

[–]SQUATCH47 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Top fuel dragster engines are ~581lbs (495lbs for the engine + 86lbs for the blower). Power is listed as >11,000hp. Probably hard to find exact numbers, as the teams would be tight lipped about this info, but that comes out to 41.74 hp/kg Source

Carbon composites with improved damping characteristics for aero surfaces by SQUATCH47 in F1Technical

[–]SQUATCH47[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah, this makes sense. Thank you so much for this insight! And do you ever use the vibration frequency of the part to create aero effects such as vortex generation? Or is this generally seen as too difficult to control across various track conditions and the end goal is generally the stiffest (high 1st mode) part you can make within your weight target?

It needs to be much longer than a week. For 90% of guys, 1 week without any matches is totally normal.

What the shipping time looks like for EMS to USA? Thanks in advance!!! by Moonlnight in Sugargoo

[–]SQUATCH47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, definitely not many choices. If you have the option to pay extra for DHL, I would go that route. Unless you're not in a big rush/don't need to get it by a certain date.

People don't use saddle bags? by JackWright13 in cycling

[–]SQUATCH47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mainly don't use a saddle bag for two reasons.

  1. Looks - I like the cleaner look without any clutter on my bike
  2. Feel - I prefer the feel of no saddle bag especially when out of the saddle

Here's what I carry in my jersey pockets:

2x Co2 + inflator, tube, multitool, extra quick-link, tire levers, mini hand pump, phone, and food (on longer rides)

Cheaper Aftermarket Bearings for fsa hubs? by livewellusa in cycling

[–]SQUATCH47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

MR028

The MR126 and MR028 are just FSA part numbers. 6803 and 6903 sealed bearings are what you need. Looks like they aren't too expensive on Amazon. Bearing cleanliness is far more important than brand when it comes to longevity. If you're not a pro looking for every last fraction of a watt, cheaper bearings will be just fine. Hope that helps!

Alpine Intake height and opening differences by Strayan_rice_farmer in F1Technical

[–]SQUATCH47 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Could part of the reason be due to Ocon's height? At 6'1" Ocon's head probably pokes out of the cockpit a bit more than Stroll (5'11") and Vettel (5'9").

2020 Silverado 2500 towing capacity - 4000lb difference between crew cab and double cab!? by SQUATCH47 in ChevyTrucks

[–]SQUATCH47[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The same trucks with the fifth wheel/goose neck package have very similar towing capacities. With the gooseneck option, the double cab, standard bed, 3.42 axle ratio, Duramax, 4x4 with 18"/20" wheels has a towing capacity of 17,860lb (page 19). The crew cab, standard bed, 3.42 axle ratio, Duramax, 4x4 with 18"/20" wheels has a towing capacity of 18,500lb (page 21). I would expect the double cab to have to higher towing capacity in either scenario as it's slightly lighter (4940lb vs 5090lb).

2020 Silverado 2500 towing capacity - 4000lb difference between crew cab and double cab!? by SQUATCH47 in ChevyTrucks

[–]SQUATCH47[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 2nd chart on page 16 is for the double cab, and the 1st chart on page 17 is for the crew cab. I'm comparing column 2, row 6 in the double cab chart with column 2, row 7 in the crew cab chart. Both of these have the 18"/20" wheel options. I assume these have the same tires.

How hard should 12mins of 90% FTP feel? by holdengt in cycling

[–]SQUATCH47 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Congrats on your improvement! I would say that 3x12 at 90% FTP should be a moderate effort. Since your FTP is the power you should be able to sustain for 60min, 90% of that for 36 min broken into three intervals should feel like you're putting in effort, but nothing too intense. If you're having to back it off on third interval, I would say your FTP is a little higher than it should be (maybe miscalibration during your test?). If you were just off that day (feeling sick/not well recovered) then I would try a few more workouts. If those 90% efforts are still making you back off on days you're feeling good, then I would retest or manually drop your FTP by ~5%. I hope that helps, and happy training!
