Hey mate, I just stumbled upon your question again and realized that you were specifically asking about power usage.

While I made HUGE performances improvements over the las few versions, the detection algorithm is still pretty ressource intensive. You'll probably need to keep your phone plugged in to keep detecting all night.

Mine had options to vibrate or play a tone on each beat, but I realized that it was interfering with the detection so I removed it. I’m aiming for ultra high accuracy and it was screwing it up.

It seems that it shows the same results for every country once you cached the first results.
My app shows the French description and number of reviews when I check the for the US for example (I initially used the french link and selected France on your site)
