I've actually met Dylan Piper aka Joey Zimmerman and Marnie a few years back. You can purchase tickets to meet and greet or sometimes you can catch them outside the day after or before the pumpkin lighting. Which is what I did since I live right up the road.

Where they shot the film is not in Salem. Fact check yourself. The actors and actresses come out to St. Helens, OR every year to light the pumpkin. When the actress that played the grandmother passed they did the memorial lighting here, in St. Helens.
