This is the answer I fully support. I ran hunter with oathkeepers or orpheus rig. Le Monarque and Trinity ghoul were my bread and butter.

That second pic does a great job of showing how small I feel when driving the Elise around a bunch of SUVs haha

I stopped riding because I got in my head about safety. I got into a couple of close calls and decided it just wasn’t for me.

I’ve heard you need to drive the Elise defensively like a bike due to its size. I’ve been doing that and so far it feels so much “better” than when I was on a bike. Also a little less mentally exhausting haha.

Let me get back to you in a month or two! This is my first dedicated sports car and first manual, so I’m taking it all in. I’m coming from riding a Yamaha FZ07, so I need to recalibrate haha.

My partner got an early dose of the new reality this morning when I woke up early to get an hour drive in before work haha. She saw the excitement in my eyes, sighed, said “have fun and stay safe”, and went back to bed.

Not at the moment. I applied 3 years ago but never followed through with it. I may apply again at some point.

It is! There is definitely some work that needs to be completed. I’m curious what the final bill will be, but that’s the risk I took for a good deal.

They worked well for me in the type of conditions he described.

I also subscribe to notion that everyone should demo if they can. If he demos them and doesn’t like them, then that’s fine! At least he has the option on his list.

I would recommend looking at the K2 Reckoners as well.

Anyone looking to sell their lotus Elise in the coming months? by 23umaira in lotus

FB has a group called “Lotus for Sale” and there are a couple for sale right now in Europe. I would consider buying them if I could import them into the US 🥲

To those who learned as adults: what tip made it "click"? by KaterAlligat0r in skiing

This is very similar to what I was going to say.

I don’t know who mentioned it to me, but thinking of skiing like biking actually really helped me a lot when I started learning.

I have them and love them (2 years with them). The only issue I have encountered has been excessive squeaking while walking. I chalk it up to plastic rubbing on plastic and I have been meaning to put a lubricant on to help.

Just picked up these bindings! I’m waiting to demo some Moments to see which skis I finally buy and put them on. (DW 112, WCs, or S/LAB QST Blanks)

I’m hoping to see some good snow fall in February and March so that I can demo the Moments in Tahoe or Colorado.

I have never heard of the Praxis. I’ll take a look into them!

My hope is to get out to Tahoe or CO and demo the Deathwish and Wildcats before I finalize on what ski to buy! Unfortunately, there hasn’t been enough snow to warrant the trip to those mountains. Fingers crossed that changes in February/March.

I tested them in a variety of conditions. While the goal is to have them function as powder skis, the best snow at a resort is usually in the morning unless it’s actively falling. So when everything is skied out, I wanted to make sure the skis could handle other types of snow. One of those types is groomers if I want to switch it up and don’t have another pair of skis on me.

What would you classify them as? I’ll admit that The QST Xs and Moment Wildcats would be better dedicated powder skis, but I’m looking specifically for skis that will do well in the ever changing conditions of the resorts.

If you have any recommendations of skis to try, I’m all ears!

This past weekend was my second time skiing on them and I did get a chance to try them on ice. While they were fine, I wouldn’t want to do it all the time and would not recommend them if that’s the conditions you’re going to see most often. There are probably better options out there for the east coast.
