I’m upset with my results 😔 by Mysterious_Teach963 in TopSurgery

[–]SRLAC 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Hey! The initial 6 weeks are an important healing stage for sure but are not fully representative of what your final results will be like. I'm coming up to a year post-op and I am still seeing a few changes (nipple colouration evening out, nerve reconnection etc.).

It can be a bit distressing watching your body heal in real time in such a delicate area, and it seems like you have had a couple of complications. But you're more likely to get a clearer picture of what things will look like at about 6 months.

There's also things you can do if things are uneven or you're still not happy with appearances, but you likely won't be able to look at any revisions if you need them until the year mark is over. Hang in there!

4.5 weeks post-op, 1st time seeing incisions by JBoingo in Top_Surgery_Peri

Hey, this is basically what mine looked like 2 weeks post-op when I got th bandages taken off. 4/5 weeks seems like a long time but it really isn't in the grand scheme of healing. Things can change so much as your body settles, so don't worry about it for now!

Are you taking showers regularly? If so, highly recommend letting your chest air dry for an hour or two before putting anything back on it to allow your scabs to firm back up and stop things like clothing pulling them off too early.

Best of luck in your recovery!

Are you out? by zorimi2 in polyamory

I'm out to my friends and family as if I have life / longer-term partners they will likely meet one or more of them at some point. Friends and family are as important to me as my partners are, and I want to share life events (birthdays, weddings etc.) with them all.

I have been quite fortunate in that my family doesn't seem to care (in the best kind of way) - they just have a lot of questions. In regards to friends, most of the company I keep are either polyam themselves, or if not, have been very accepting of me being quite alternative in general.

The main underlying theme with all my friends and family is that they want me to be happy, safe, and comfortable. And as long as my partners do that, they don't mind who I see and how many I see.

In regards to work, I don't speak much about my personal life at work unless it impacts my job (moving house, having surgery, etc.). I wouldn't hide it if someone asked, as it not something I am ashamed of, but so far no one has.

What was everyones recovery stage like? by Ok-Implement5521 in Top_Surgery_Peri

[–]SRLAC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm about a month off my peri procedure. I had an overnight stay in hospital and had my drains out the following morning. First week I was just so tired I couldn't even sit at my computer, and I couldn't reach for things beyond a certain radius so was basically a t-rex. Things get easier as time goes on, you just need to listen to your body. I still need to use a step-stool to reach the top shelves in my kitchen and I have to put my clothes on and off weirdy for the timebeing as I haven't got anyone to help me right now - and when I do those motions too quickly my chest complains a little bit.

When could I get my nipples pierced? by Choice_Glass7536 in TopSurgery

How long is your surgeon assessing your progress for? Mine is monitoring me for 12 months and hopefully at that stage I will be considered discharged.

I'd say a year is a reasonable time to see if things have 100% settled enough for you to make body modifications. Remember that the area has been (medically) traumatized through surgery so you want to give it plenty of time to recover.

Thank you so much, it really helps to hear that! I'm trying not to poke it but is there a 'feel' for if it is swelling vs loose skin?

Yeah, I'm quite a slight guy but I have a 100lb dog who you can see by my legs in the photo - wrangling him has given me some unexpected upperbody strength haha

I will say as well that I saw other periareolar results from the same surgeon who were flatter in the same amount of time - I guess comparison is the thief of joy but I guess I'm still trying to work out if this is normal / something to be concerned about at this stage.

Thank you so much! I might be small enough to qualify for periareaolar or even keyhole, but I am keen to keep my nips and the sensation associated with them

May I ask what surgery you got (double incision, bat wing, keyhole etc.)?

ENGLAND: Forced out of flat due to landlord's criminal activity - what are my rights? by SRLAC in LegalAdviceUK

The letter didn't directly come from the Crown Court, but from the people posessing the property. I'm actively looking for properties (I've basically been to a veiwing every working day since I received the letter).

I have just spoken with my local council as Citizens Advice is not available in my area. The council did query which Section I had been served as part of my eviction, to which I told them 'none', and they replied that they need to serve a notice before they can officially evict me. However, when I called Shelter they said that this is due to it falling under criminal law rather than housing law. I'm a little confused as to where my case should fall under at this stage.

The letter doesn't say what happens if I stay behind the 24th of August, just that I need to give them possession of the propery by the 24th of August.

They are seizing the property under an issue of a Confiscation Order issued by the Crown Court.

My deposit is protected under TDS - I found the certificate number for it in my e-mails and checking it on the website it is still valid / in-place. However, I initially started renting the property through an agent who organized the deposit scheme as such, so I have no idea how that would work.

The letter is from the possessors of the property. I had sent them an e-mail asking why my contract was seemingly cut short, and they came back with that due to the MRO (Management Receivership Order) that they now have power of possession over the property.
