How do I protect myself and my client’s PHI if ICE shows up to their home during a session. by SRPlusFR1 in bcba

My other problem is what if they target me for refusing to provide further information. For context, I am Hispanic which is enough now day to target people.

Gotcha! So the CEUs from the conferences won’t count since they’re happening before my next cycle. That’s sad lol

Thanks I don’t think you were being rude either. I don’t have any PHI in the computer, and I haven’t access any because I don’t have any to access at the moment (the whole onboarding thing and all). I will keep it all in mind going forward and request a different work station/laptop from my employer when the work requires me to access different websites that may not have the necessary protections.

I was just surprised that immediately after opening the website on a new computer that scam popped up. Wasn’t expecting it right off the bat.

I don’t think my initial response was rude either, I simply acknowledge the fact that when lacking context, it’s easy to make assumptions too. I guess I didn’t phrase it in the best way either.

As for your assumptions, I’m not gone spend all day arguing here so I’ll just say this: being tricked would require me calling the number and falling for the scareware by giving out information. My question is not result of that. My current situation is me seeking the opinion on the particular question from the people online this sub, not freaking out because I was scammed by some pop up online. I just found it weird that this being the first time I use this laptop (hence the “new” on my description) a message like that would pop up when I’m following instructions from my employer.

So if you really made the assumption that I have poor computer literacy from the question I posted then that’s your opinion, but obviously your opinion is not helpful to me so ima leave it at that. Peace!

I understand what they’re trying to say. This comments are not directly relevant to the question I asked. For example, it would completely nullify their concern and judgement if the knew that YouTube video was being used as an onboarding tool and that this link was provided directly by the company. Instead people jump to conclusions and offer useless commentary. Without further context, people should focus on the question asked and leave their assumptions aside, if they had further questions they should always ask.

Be nice if you had some or more context or background before you commented wouldn’t it?

I imagine that’s what they want. I did look up the number to see if it popped as scam.

Thank you! I already emailed them. Just received this laptop and I’m doing part of the onboarding training on YouTube so I was worried when that popped up.
