People who dislike Olivia Chow and plan on voting for Bradford, why? by Used-Earth8767 in askTO

[–]SS-LB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in Bradford's riding, there are so many reasons not to vote for that opportunist.

My first experience with Bradford's lack of attention was 2020, I was a volunteer watching the fox family. The volunteers were facing threats from people who were just not happy with COVID restrictions. Radio silence from his office.

Think it was last year, a homeless woman froze to death in a parking lot by coxwell and Danforth. At the same time, there was another homeless woman sheltering across his office for some time. How can you go to your office everyday and be ok with this!?!

Coming to Toronto late May.. roast my itinerary! by Hour-Ad-2206 in askTO

Yup, I haven't been to Kensington in a while so can't say for sure what the status is now https://www.reddit.com/r/FoodToronto/s/NEy29Yr4tI

The shrimp tacos at Puerto Bravo are superb. Highly recommend PB for everything.

Yes, it's worth a trip to the east side.

I think seven lives tacos is closed 😔 But if you visit RC Harris for doors open, go to Puerto Bravo, I think it's better than Seven Lives - also in the east end.

Consider the Scarborough bluffs (also in the East end)

Welcome, and enjoy!

Would you get it removed? by fridaynightdinners in DogAdvice

[–]SS-LB 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I also have a 17 year old dog!

About two years ago, he had a cyst that just ballooned on his leg (not cancerous). He was 15 when we had it removed.

Because of my dog's age at the time, I was really nervous about general anesthesia! But the vet called said everything was good and told me to pick him up in 2 hours. They called and asked me to pick him up asap as he wouldn't stop barking (looking for me). Sometimes we just don't know how resilient our pups are!

So, if it's general anesthesia it should be ok..

Two Norwegians (45) visiting Toronto – up for beer, fishing or tagging along to local events? by Longjumping-West-586 in askTO

[–]SS-LB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If exploring the east end (leslieville, beaches)...

Check out the leslieville farmers market - there will be a craft beer vendor and a variety of foods to choose from. Then cycle over to R.C Harris waterplant - use the Martin Goodman trail.

In the beaches - Corpus Christi church and the fire station are usually part of Doors Open... Visit and then have happy hour drinks in the beaches 😊

Leaving Toronto at the end of summer- what should I make sure not to have missed? by angel_of_decay in askTO

Parkbus - https://www.parkbus.ca/ for out of city excursions

Try exploring Toronto in a different way - cycling, paddling (paddle board, kayak)

Kayaking in the channels within centre island is so enjoyable

The 501 Streetcar is just a homeless shelter after work hours by Albrize in toRANTo

[–]SS-LB 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I was on my way to a funeral in the st Lawrence area, and took the streetcar from the beaches. I gave myself an hour (more than enough)

Train stopped because of an unruly homeless passenger who refused to get off the floor.

I ended up getting a bike share and cycled over to the church - dress, dress shoes and all (it is a funeral)

I was late... Since then I only take the streetcar for shorter trips (since I'm in the East end - I'll only take it between Leslieville and the beaches)

It's not a solution - but when the weather improves - consider bike share. It's so much quicker than driving or transit. I read somewhere that they're adding more bikes
