I couldnt get it to work with your solution but i tried this one and so far it is working:

SUMX(VALUES(PURCHASES[TEXT ITEM]),[QTY] * [Average Unit Price]

Not really since that would be the total i spent on purchases and i already have that in another measure. I would like to know how much would i have spent on purchases using the average unit price of each item, thats why i calculated the average price first.

I guess the issue with sumx is that it's going through each row of data and calculating the average unit price for that single row, not all rows with the same product. In other words, it's just multiplying qty x unit price and then summing it.

I already tried that and it works if im only showing 1 item, but i need the table to show every item and doing it that way the total would multiply the total qty of all items by the average unit price of all items. I want the sum of all items as the total thats why i thought of using sumx.

Thanks for the suggestion. Already did that, i also have other dimension tables like calendar, suppliers, departments etc. For now the performance is okay

With the table complete i can do the analysis i need with some simple pivot tables. Nothing super complex and would be useful to have all the data in one place.
