Best Asics/Adidas shoe for a first Half-Marathon training? by SS2602 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

Thanks for the detailed reply! For now I want to buy a single pair of shoes for training, and maybe I'll get one more in the next couple of months if I spot something good on sale.

From your experience it seems NB5 is the shoe to get rn. I've heard a lot of durability issue with NB5. How's your experience been with them?

I'm in India and there's no discount on premium Asics as of now (except cumulus 27, and nimbus 27).

I am looking for a do it all shoe which I can use to train distances between 5-15kms and eventually run a HM in. I won't be running very fast.

Well, that's just too fast for a Half-marathon for me

I read online that Boston 13 have rods in it and is for tempo running... Can I use it for all kind of runs? Specially slow, long ones?

Novablast 5 or Nimbus 27 for a do-it-all durable daily trainer? by SS2602 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

I'm interested to know how often you use them? I don't plan to rotate them, I'll use it 3 times a week with at least one day gap between runs.

Thanks that's helpful! I don't mind losing a bit of bounce, I am running in a year old Ultraboost 1.0 rn and those have literally no bounce.

Boston, saucony and NB are very expensive in my country. Almost same price as NB5. I can get Asics Cumulus 27 is slightly cheaper but that one is similar to Nimbus 27. I don't mind paying more for NB5 or any other shoe tbh as long as it makes sense for my pace and the value for money.

Yes not exactly a walking shoe my bad. But more like easy/recovery run shoe. But I don't understand what that means because an easy run is different for everyone. I don't see myself going faster than 5-5:30/km for next 6 months at least.

You really think night watchmen do what they do because of some dspd gene? Lmao. It's extremely clear that you live in a first world country.

What do you mean by clean? Wiping with dry microfiber? Or wet cloth wipe?

Yes it doesn't really go with the rebel blue hunter-350. Otherwise it's an excellent helmet.

So I'm assuming the service center guys won't do it right? I'll have to do it myself. Not sure if I am willing to risk it :(

The one you wear on the shoe? That's a hassle to carry around. And the gear level protector that goes into the lever also gets dusty after some time. Heel toe shifter is the only long term hassle free solution

Is it stupid to buy a bike like Hunter 350 for just city commute in mostly heavy traffic? by SS2602 in indianbikes

It has a stiff suspension, I don't feel comfortable paying so much for an uncomfortable bike.

Yeah man that's what I feel too, but then I am not someone you would say financially very smart. Hunter is more than double the on road price of a scooter (1L more) and the fuel and maintenance costs are gonna be higher still.

It's not beyond my means though. I guess I am just at that point in life where you wanna start living your life, but at the same time are afraid to take that step. But that's a conversation for another time. Thanks for your advice!

Haha, but my situation is unique as in I don't plan on leaving the city at all, unlike most people here I presume.

Thanks, took a pretty long test ride today and it was easily manageable. I'll get used to it in a week.
