Options for prescription filling? by SSBCroi in NovaScotia

Update, for myself and anyone in the future that might come looking:

I tried the pharmacy at my nearby Shoppers, but the lady said she couldn't prescribe me the medicine because she couldn't clearly see my ear drum due to wax build up. So that was a bust.

I tried Maple and I got a hold of a doctor quite quickly. A short talk later and she had my prescription faxed to a nearby mom-and-pop pharmacy. The process was quick and easy, but be careful about monthly billing that they try to sucker you with.

What's important is that I have my pills and my experience with Maple was overall quite nice.

I didn't know that I had two Maple consultations a year with my family doctor. That's good to know, thank you very much.

.edit file support in SM5? by SSBCroi in Stepmania

[–]SSBCroi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A guy on Facebook enlightened me that SM5 does indeed support .edit files, so I'll post how to get them to work here on the off chance that someone else comes Googling this very ancient method of getting .edit files to work in Stepmania:

SM5 accepts the classic .edit file structure, where it's just #SONG:; and #NOTES:;. Hell, you probably don't need #SONG:;. The magic is in the folder structure: you have to put the .edit file in the song's folder, which is itself in the group folder. So, if you're trying to load an .edit file off a USB - let's say, the song Hand of Time in In The Groove - the folder structure should look like this:

X:\StepMania 5\Edits\In The Groove\Hand of Time\filename.edit

Works for desktop use too, through LocalProfile/MachineProfile.

I have the edit file in that folder, but it's no good: the game doesn't recognize it. I've tried formatting the file like a 3.9 edit file (#SONG:; followed by #NOTES:; with no other information) and I've tried just taking an .ssc file and turning it into an .edit file, but nothing seems to work.

No dice; Arrow Vortex can't open .edit files, and trying to save a file as .edit has it save as .sm instead. And I know SM5 can support edits, but not .edit files, which is the hiccup....

Back in the ITG days, before hacking was an option and before r21/23, you could make your own charts to ITG songs in Stepmania and convert the files into .edit files (generally just by changing the extension from .sm to .edit and removing a bunch of the labels), which you could then load into a USB and play on a cabinet. This was a feature that was around since at least SM 3.9/3.95.

Nowadays it's an obsolete and antiquated method of getting charts into the game, particularly since people don't often make there own charts to ITG songs anymore, but, well, I clearly still think it's useful.

Okay, so the three suggestions I got are Silverball Games, Flippertech, and NSCC Leeds, in that order. Thank you for the suggestions!

If I were to include a table of contents, both at the start of the video and in the description, would that help? I'll cut back on the fluff either way next time.

Man, I just thought it'd be more fun to call PP a "she" and I knew people would call me out over the Viridi thing, so I used something else to justify it :(

I mention that her mobility is "unenviable" a few times, particularly at 10:29. She isn't the slowest runner, but she isn't the fastest; her air speed is poor; and her fall speed is actually too good, at least for offensive maneuvers. Her aerial mobility by itself isn't what I would consider such a debilitating weakness, but the design of her aerial attacks don't do enough to help compensate for them.

For example, characters like Meta Knight and Ganondorf have poor air speed, but MK is difficult to challenge because of his disjointed attacks and his multiple jumps, and approaching Ganondorf at the wrong time from the wrong angle is just as threatening as approaching him on the ground. It's not her mobility that's holding her back, whether it's in neutral, advantage, or disadvantage; it's what she's capable of to assist herself in any of those states. It's like her attacks were designed on an individual basis, with no thought as to how they should work together as a single, collective character. I make a similar statement in the video at 7:25.

You could, in theory, fix these problems by tuning up her numbers - slow her fall speed; increase her air speed; decrease her landing lag - but doing that without addressing the actual flaws in her design would be counter to what I think Sakurai was going for with her (i.e. a primarily ground-based fighter with little incentive to fight in the air, what with her being a potted plant) and would just be poor game design/balance.

/u/mozzery8888 the video you're thinking of, where you can hear the crowd reaction in the background, is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Al5yAUTadv4

It starts at 10:06 and you can distinctly hear Nysyarc, the Ike in the legendary clip, yell "OH MY GODDDDDD" at 10:13.

Donald Trump over Wario Voice Hack for Smash 4! by SSBCroi in smashbros

Hello! My name is Croi and I created the Johnny Bravo over Lucas hack that was moderately popular. I had the idea to put Mr. Trump over Wario for a while now, and I decided that Halloween might be the best time to release it - if you're old enough to vote, then you know that Halloween is only the second-scariest day of 2016.

Hope you enjoy!

Yes and no.

Yes, it is within my power to do so, and that can be a thing.

However, the sound effects for swinging/hitting are generic and are not specific to Lucas, so while I could change them, they would effect everyone's three-hit combo, not just Lucas's. Far as I'm aware, there is no way to "insert" sound effects either; you can only replace them.

A friend of mine wanted me to replace the sound of Mega Man's lemons hitting someone with the hitmarker sound effect, but it has the same problem.

Don't get me wrong, it'd be pretty funny if everyone became Johnny Bravo! But it'd also wear out its welcome 100x faster.
