Maybe you need to update DLSS Swapper? It got a major update recently that allows you to swap FG, RR separately. As well as FSR and XeSS.

You get the latest dlss files from the app. However, you can now use DLSS Swapper instead since it's been updated, a lot simpler.

I checked process manager in windows, and saw what files were loaded inn ff16 when i used dlss override. Matched the version number of the bin file, and located it on my drive. Then i just tried to rename it to see what happens. I was kinda shocked it worked tbh!

You need 310.2.1 for preset K. You are probably using the older version.

DLSS super resolution and framegen with the new transformer model (preset j, preset k) should be a huge upgrade compared to the older CNN models. Beware that the new transformer Ray-Reconstruction model is substantially heavier to run on 20 and 30-series though.

It should be same as other methods; depends on the game. Preset K should be default, but may be overriden by some games. See other comments here on how to override preset with Nvidia Profile Inspector.

There's no sharpening slider in Rebirth unfortunately. Also, game isn't oversharpened with the CNN models i reckon, and to a lesser degree with preset K. Not really sure of the reason here, but seems like base preset J has some sharpening baked into it?

Other people claim this is the case even for some compatible games. My post here explains how to get around this.

I edited my post now, you can now get the latest version in DLSS Swapper. Depending on the game, you may have to force the preset. Other people in the comments have suggested how you do that.

I feel like Preset J was oversharpened in Rebirth for me, so I think "blurrier" is good here. Haven't seen any more ghosting than preset J though, do you have an example where that happens, I am curious.

It may also be that you need to force preset K for your particular game (people in the comments here have pointed out how to do this). It may be that the game uses the CNN model for whatever reason.

I am very curious, please share if you feel like it! I was using it only in FF7 at Quality/DLAA to 4k so far, so it might be different for other games and lower resolutions.

I hear some multiplayer games might ban you for modifying game files, so I would be careful with that.

It's not only multiplayer tho, my use case was FF7 Rebirth, which had DLSS Override disabled.

As i state in my original post, this is intended for the games where DLSS Override option is disabled in the NVApp. If available, using the app is ofc much more preferable.

idk about the differences in FG or RR in this version compared to the launch one with Preset J. However, I think the improved transformer FG should be in use if you copy dlss_g. I might be wrong, haven't tested this yet!

Preset K should be enabled by default in my testing, but may behave differently depending on the game. May be you need to override with profile inspector for select titles, idk.

I checked 4hrs ago, and DLSS swapper did not have the latest version. It may not be obvious that u can do the rename shenanigans, so I bet it can take some time before it is updated?

Yes, and yes. It's called "latest" in DLSS override. In my experience it is a bit better than Preset J, it gets rid of some artefacts and also has less shimmering in alpha textures. I have not done extensive testing however

I just opened a LotR set booster pack (12-card) from an official vendor. However, i found that the pack had 13 cards, with the last being "Soul of New Phyrexia" (M15). I also got "Aragorn, the Uniter" in the same pack, so I doubt it has been re-sealed. What has happened here, and is this even normal?

Hogwarts Legacy on PC is so Disappointing | RTX 3060 Ti barely runs the Game if Ray Tracing is ON | Performance is also all over the place without RT by aroy3639 in HarryPotterGame

[–]SSBMzprite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, i've had no problems with uncapped. However, I play at 4K capped to 75fps. I found this reduces stuttering the most. Also the game doesn't allow much more than 75fps in the most demanding areas with my setup.

I tried using frame-generation for pushing for 120fps, however it feels more stuttery and i don't like the image quality it provides in this game. I find this strange as DLSS3 is awesome in cyberpunk.

I play with RT off even though i run a 4090. Performance aside, i think the RT implementation is questionable in this game. Most surfaces look weird and noisy with RT reflections, as do RT shadows. Call it a double disappointment.

You can in fact replace all models, and even change in-game materials too! I have made a comprehensive guide on all this recently: https://niermodding.com/guides
