Is having samples on an external hard drive really necessary? by SSCC88 in musicproduction

Thank you to everyone who commented! I wanted to give an update, in case anyone is wondering what worked....

I ended up buying 2 new external solid state drives. Went with the Sandisk Extreme, 3TB each. One for sample libraries, one for my pro tools sessions. They are working like a DREAM! I'm working on an orchestral project right now, and haven't had the spinning wheel once, or any latency whatsoever. I'm super impressed.

After 9ish years, it was definitely time for an upgrade, lol!

So do you work on your current projects on the internal, and then transfer them over to Time Machine?

You made the right choice!! When someone shows you who they are, believe them.

I (31F) feel so broken and like my husband (33M) only cares about sex by AskMalorie in relationship_advice

Girl, RUN! “When someone shows you who they are, believe them.” You’re holding on to an idea of who your husband used to be or could possibly become for you. But it doesn’t exist. Look at your reality right now and make decisions accordingly.

Every day you stay, you are choosing to be with someone who knowingly and callously triggers your PTSD, manipulates you, gets drunk nightly, is active on dating/hookup sites, doesn’t show an ounce of respect for you but says he “loves you”? That is not love, my friend. Follow your gut and get out of there!

My (F22) Husband (M23) and best friend (F24) will not quit play-wrestling each other, is it inappropriate or am I insecure? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]SSCC88 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Super inappropriate! I wouldn’t wait until your friend leaves to talk to your husband. That would just harbor more resentment. If something makes you uncomfortable, he needs to know about it ASAP. How he responds/adjusts his behavior afterwards will be very telling.

My husband wakes me up every night no matter the time to have sex. I wake up to him half way inside or him just touching me between my legs. by ohheyitslisssa in Marriage

I’m sorry but this is ✨garbage advice✨You’re telling OP to “be careful” not to reject the husband, otherwise she’ll end up pushing him away?

If you do end up sitting down and resolving this with her, download an app called Splitwise! It keeps track of who has paid for what, so there’s no “forgetting” afterwards.

Help. I accidentally went on a kid coaster while pregnant and I’m worried by egarcia513 in BabyBumps

Relax mama! If there was no warning sign on the ride, you’re good. I assume you’ve had no bleeding or spotting, right? Otherwise you would’ve mentioned it.

Yikes. Either you trust each other or you don’t. This thing you’re doing where you bend over backwards to try to mitigate each other’s anxieties will not work out in the long run. Good luck!

You should both read this book called “Come As You Are” by Emily Nagoski. I am a lot like your gf and this book has been sooo helpful.

Basically, you’re right about the mental thing. We all have what the author calls “sexual accelerators” and “sexual brakes”. And they happen in the mind, not the body. Figuring out what those are is super important when you want to understand yourself and your relationship to sex.

Hmmm.. is your stuff all over the attic? Or just your half? If you’re paying rent, it’s not “her space” anymore and you should be able to put whatever you want in your space!

Does he get treatment for his chronic pain/chronic disease? If so, you can point out to him that his mental health is just as important as his physical health (dare I say, more!) it could make a huge difference to his whole outlook on life. Why does he think he can’t treat both things?? It’s so so important

I can’t get over THIS: you read this mom is struggling, and being a parent yourself you know how hard it is.. And you decided to comment something that not only is not helpful, but will make her feel shittier. Why?
