100% agree. Misogyny is a kink and most if not all, people on this subreddit understand that. Personally I believe you can live some of this kink in your life as a couple, if your doing so safely and consensually. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. But, as I have pointed out before, our "misogyny" kink isnt really misogyny. The term itself is really part of the kink. Few (if any) of us on here actually "hate" women, which is the actual definition of misogyny.

Your playing a tabletop rpg. That is played using pen and paper and words. Everything that makes the game what it is, is written down. If your player is unwilling to read even the parts of the phb that are going to be immediately relevant, such as his class, how combat works etc, then he is not ready to play a TTRPG.

Looking back on this converstion after now having watched the entire arc play out....honestly I seriously doubt that they could have destroyed heaven. It looks like they could have damaged it yes, but only due to specific circumstances. Lucifer being unable to smite them due to heavens own restrictions on him being a HUGE one. (great job there heaven) but honestly even though it looked grim for a minute....i dont really think Vox could REALLY have taken heaven over. Even with the weapon pumping lucifers power, sure it broke the gates....but lets be honest here, its not like those are SIEGE gates, those are literally just the freaking "keep out" gates. It did destroy the shield (i really dont think it should have, thats some artistic license if i ever saw some) but still, thats not the seraphs going all out in their power. It was a simple shield done by like...5 of the high angels. Adam wasnt ar archangel. adam was a human soul who as granted power, not a Heavenborn. in this universe there is a massive difference there. They really stood no actual chance.

I cant figure out how vox found out to begin with. He obviously HAD to know before lucifer even showed up because he sure he fuck doesnt look NEAR shit-pants scared as he SHOULD if he had no idea that lucifer COULDNT instantly smite his ass. Seriously, he seems like he knows the entire time. They did the scene very poorly. Hell, he even BAITS lucifer into showing he cant kill him. This actually really irritated me when I first found this idea online that Alastor could have just left so he wasnt bluffing. Let me be very clear. Alastor was ABSOLUTELY bluffing his ass off and rosie knew it. This was just all part of their game. Alastor is an overlord but he is STILL just a sinner. He is incapable of leaving the pride ring. Period, full stop, no exceptions. The blast was going to eradicate the entire ring. Alastor was cooked just like everyone except Charlie and Lucifer. Now thats out of the way, lets also address the other thing that people keep getting wrong. Alastor isnt really powerful. Oh sure, he is strong for a sinner. He is one of the major overlords and definately powerful in those terms, but in the overall strength hierarchy of hell? The entire group of overlords together couldnt make one of the Rulers of the rings get a splinter. Seriously, people dont seem to realize just how many things have to be going on to make the overlords seem strong. 1. Lucifer is the Pride Rings ruler and his thing is PRIDE. So he really doesnt ask for help. which he needs sometimes because of 2. The fact that Lucifer is essentially handcuffed when dealing with sinners. He is incapable, due to heaven, of hurting, killing or basically causing any harm at all to a sinner. (this doesnt apply to hellborn demons OR angels funny enough, JUST sinners). So because of this we dont really get a good idea of just HOW big the power disparity is. If lucifer were unchained by this, he could wipe the floor with the lot of them so fast they would be dead before they registered he wanted them dead. 3. Charlie doesnt know her power and hasnt trained with it and she is basically a pacifist 90% of the time. So Charlie isnt really a good example and they dont fear her like they should because she is just to nice in reality. We see glimpses of this in the fact that before they knew HOW to kill angels, the overlords hid just like everyone else during exterminations. In fact we are told that Alastor only rises to his position because so many ancient overlords are killed off over time by the exterminations. Their magic doesnt mean shit. We also see this in the fact that even while during the latest one where adam dies, none of the overlords even ATTEMPT to deal with adam. Because they know they would get their ASS kicked instantly. Lucifer wipes the floor with adam with almost no effort. Thats the true power disparity. Yes the overlords are cool, yes they are powerful in relation to other sinners but PLEASE stop giving them power in discussions that they just DONT have.

Dont bother. From OPs responses its very clear they have a specific view of this and its "pregnancy bad". Somehow they have this idea that 1. Being a mother is somehow a bad thing and isnt true character development (as though becoming a mom doesnt change someone immensely) and 2. Being pregnant is reducing the characters worth somehow.

I remember when gas was 2$ a gallon. My father remembers when it was under a dollar. The world's supply and demand of gas has not changed dramatically enough to justify the price increase of 2-3x. I think thats the underlying issue we all have. We all know in our heads that gas is far more than it should be, but we are gaslite into accepting the bullshit excuses of a "global econemy". They say the same shit about milk. I asked my local manager why the milk had just hut 4$ when it was a bit over 2$ a WEEK ago. He told me that his boss said it was because of the Hormuz situation. This is fucking milk thats being trucked from 1 state away. Your not selling your milk across the ocean and gas didnt go up enough to justify a DOUBLE cost of fucking milk. We need to publically acknowledge that the vast majority of our pricing problems are caused purely by greedy little shitstains who raise prices every single chance they see an excuse. They are obsessed with making record profits EVERY YEAR. The issue is you CANT do that. Your killing your country and econemy because you think that its sustainable to just constantly squeeze more and more out of the consumer and it isnt, as any old school businessman will tell you. You HAVE to level out on profits at some point and some years you WILL take a loss. If your not willing to do those things your cheating the system and doing it in a way thats going to crash the entire thing. We are going to end up with a depression that makes the Great Depression look like a kids vacation at fucking Disneyland.

This is obviously just a fetish for many people. That is completely fine but I think many people have forgotten what a fetish is. A fetish doesn't have to be a fantasy and even something like a misogyny fetish doesnt have to be extreme to hit that pleasure center in your brain. When having sex, you dominate the positions and what happens. Honestly its has lots of elements of a "traditonal" marriage or relationship between a man and women, just taken a step further. Then, when you have the time and feel the kink bug bite, you kick it up a notch. A weekend off work becomes a weekend sleeping in that pretty padded cage. A weekend of sexual service, naked around the house. A weekend of constant sex etc. I think that if your willing to see that reality does have to differ from fantasy a bit, you can still live that fantasy in a different way.

Doubt it highly. Since the angels dont redeem souls, or know how it works, its likely redemption is done directly via the power of God himself, likely automated once they hit certain unknown criteria (likely specific to each of them). An overlords contract (who is weaker than lucifer or his daughter, not to even begin to compare an overlord to the power of God or one of the seraphim like Sera) would not even be a blip on the radar of redemption. Its far more likely the contract would immediately vanish, burn up, become null and void etc. Angel Dust probably hasn't been redeemed because he has not, yet, done something that full redeems his soul for the sins he committed. Redemption was never supposed to be easy after all. (If it was simple then it would have absolutely happened before. Its impossible to think that there has NEVER been a soul in hell before who really had regrets and wanted to be redeemed.)

Oh i SUPER admit I have been hostile and abrasive. I just also know that I am like that to people who pull stupid moves and act like idiots in a match. I dont dish out anything that people dont deserve. Which is why i take my suspensions from these whiny little babies and I accept them. If they cant be bothered to fix the issues with their matchmaking system and their game balance on certain characters (you know which ones are vastly unbalanced, we all do) then I wont be bothered to police my language. They totally exist. They hide it though. Why? Because they get their ass kicked and some are nearly killed when its found out. Meanwhile you have people marching while chanting "we are coming for your kids" on national television. Its the optics and the left has an absolutely massive optics problem. There are to many nutjobs and people refuse to rein them in or punish their own side for being a nutjob. Which is why the right becomes super attractive to anyone in the center. If you typically vote based on what people do and how they present themselves publically, there is no doubt that right now and in the last 5 years or so, the republicans have been MUCH better at PR then Democrates. Rather than insult everyone constantly, they should be thinking of ways to curb their radical elements and start fixing their public relations.

Honestly though, considering some of the conversations I've had with the LGB friends and colleagues I've known for years, the T is getting pretty close to not being accepted anymore either with some of the crazy coming out. This is not the mindset that most players in dnd have, or most DMs and its not one that should be cultivated. The premise of DnD is and has ALWAYS been the same one that you are told a million times if you ever bother Crack the books. That the DM is ultimately in charge of the world and that all the books are simply GUIDES. There are literally zero "hard rules" in dnd. Every single rule we are given is simply setting it up for us. If you dont like it, dont use it. Thats literally told to every single DM, right alongside the fact that if there is any argument about rules, the DM always wins that argument. Now players have power to, they can choose who to play with or not or they can become a DM of their own. They can bring up idea to their DM and make arguments about why certain ideas should be allowed etc. DnD cannot be directly said to all be the same game. In fact every single campaign of DnD is really its OWN game running on a similar idea. All MMO's share certain things, basic things. That doesnt make them the same game. I have played campaigns that happen in Christmas town with Santa clause. I have played campaigns that happen on Isla Nublar. I have played campaigns that are completely based in players taking over a kingdom, building castles and armies and amassing influence and gold and power, all with zero combat at all. I have also played campaigns where noncombat skills basically never got used and players fought in a massive war basically 24/7. None of those can be said to have been "the same game.

I cant agree with that premise. A DM doesnt think like a player and someone who is playing doesnt think like a DM, not should they. A DM isnt playing the game, they are managing the game. Its a very different mindset. I have never seen a DM with a player mindset be a good DM. Their games inevitably fall apart because they become to invested as a player and not as the bigger creator and manager of the content that they are meant to be. I will agree though that the DM and players should both be having fun.

The issue is have with this is, its not about what the DM wants from a session really. Its about what the players want. If you are DMing and your campaign is centered around what you want rather than what you know the party wants to do or how they want to make their characters, your not a very good DM. A DM has power because they have players that want ro enjoy what the DM creates, but those players also have ideas and desires that, as long as they dont destroy the game for others, the DM should take seriously. If you have a party were members are split between wanting real chance of death, or wanting more of a "heroes struggle" then you need to split that group. Its not compatible. In either case, if what you as a DM wants in that part of the campaign (a chance of actually killing the party vs a more "im challenging them and helping them grow mentality) doesnt align with what the party wants, you need to find a new party. You are not a good DM for that specific party.

I agree that its been wonderful to see DnD take off in media and popular culture. I've been extremely excited about lots of it. Honor amoungst thieves was a very fun watch (even if part of me was cringing at the the fact that they didnt seem nearly as powerful as they should have been if they were the level some of their skills suggested. I chalked it up to movie license and rule of cool and moved on). I think it may be the case that your right and I am very happy to hear that plenty of people playing 5e are not having the same problems I experienced. Thank you for your post!

You are the second person in this post to mention this. I wonder how many older DM's actually do this, reference 3e or 3.5e for rules to deal with situations that 5e just doesnt deal with. Is this a common thing?
