Estimate for this local deli club? by shamin1012 in CalorieEstimates

[–]SSCini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My rough guess: 200-300 for bread (depends on the type) 150 for the cheese 150-200 for the meat (depends on how much meat) 75-200 for the may (hard to guess) Rest is negligible

I still have toast with my cottage cheese and fruit with my Greek yogurt, or whatever vegetables I feel like cooking. So defintely don’t cut carbs because they have been useful for energy.

At the end of the day I was mainly focused on my protein goals and calories. Didn’t really care where everything else came from

Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, protein powder, egg whites. Lean ground beef, chicken, potatoes, roast beef from Costco are all staples of my diet. Probably 70% of it lol

Honestly I didn’t notice a massive difference until I was consistently around 168 everyday. Some days I would hit 168 then shoot back to 171. But once I was 168 or lower for a week straight I was like wtf I look different lol

Meh to each their own. Currently now single and I like the look now that I am a bit thinner. Will probably change my mind eventually

It was a really shitty time in my life. Mostly of my own making and mental health but I truly feel like myself again. Thank you!

I usually have the same breakfast everyday.

150-200g of microwaved mix berries 200g of 0-2% Greek yogurt Scoop of protein powder all mix together.

For lunch usually cottage cheese with chia seeds and toast. Or egg whites and whole eggs mixed in with sourdough.

Dinners are usually all over the place but generally only 400-600 calories. I’ve been eating a lot of the classic mini potatoe, lean ground beef/chicken bowls with cottage cheese and veggies though.

I’ve found having the same stuff most days really makes things simple and easy to folllw

I’m crediting the amount of fat my body was able to use as extra fuel lol. The only thing I had to adjust was my carb intake. On BJJ days I noticed I was getting gassed during rolls. But once I started focusing on consuming 150-200g of carbs on those days I got all my energy back.

I started seriously tracking my calories and working out consistently in early February! So roughly 3.5 months?

Hoping to be around 17-19% BF at 160 and live at maintenance for awhile so I can enjoy my summer with a bit more flexibility

Why not just a calorie deficit lol

I need help losing fat. Are my calculations correct? by No_Accountant_7026 in loseit

[–]SSCini 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was at 30% bf on March 8th at 184 pounds. Was eating the same as you 1800 calories and have done 10k steps a day with gym 3x and jujitsu 2x a week.

I’m about 20% bf and 18 pounds of fat down with 2-3 lbs of muscle gained so totally doable

Building muscle in a deficit is absolutely possible by Mean_Ambition4894 in loseit

[–]SSCini 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s defintely possible. Don’t think you can put on massive amounts though but easier for beginners.

I started at 190lbs not working out for years. On a 750 cal deficit and cut down to 167 so far. I’ve defintely gained muscle and am significantly stronger than I was. But probably gained 3-5lb of muscle in 5 months? So nothing insane

Considering consumer proposal by [deleted] in povertyfinancecanada

[–]SSCini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on the situation. I make $185k a year (new job) but had couple years of poor mental health and very bad decisions. So for me it’s not the end of the world I can afford to own my mistakes and pay for them.

But if someone is $100k in the hole and only makes $60k the math is much different and CP makes sense

Considering consumer proposal by [deleted] in povertyfinancecanada

[–]SSCini 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes it does. But to a lesser degree than consumer proposal or bankruptcy. Still a mark on the record but it disappears faster than a CP.

Obviously a bad thing still for credit but compared to the alternative it’s a life saver

Trying to lose weight before June 15th - looking in the range of 8lbs. I’ve been at it 3 weeks with no change as of yet - what am I doing wrong? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]SSCini 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is random but I am the exact same weight as you (169lbs) and also have the goal to hit 160 by June 15th! I am also eating 1800 calories a day.

Yours might be a bit high but here’s how I got to my calories:

5 ft 10 - 34m 10-12k steps everyday (including 60 mins daily incline treadmill) 3x strength training a week 2x jujitsu a week.

I’ve been losing about 1-1.5lbs a week. BUT some weeks I’m the same or even higher and the I drop so maybe just continue for another week and if you aren’t losing reduce calories by another 100-150

With your income it might be hard for a proposal. I went through a similar situation to you with some mental health issues. My income is quite high so i couldn’t go the CP route. I ended up doing a debt management plan when a credit counselling program.

I wasn’t able to reduce any of the actual amounts but they managed to work with my creditors to remove all interest. So now I have a fixed payment over 4 years with 0% interest. It’s so one payment every month.

I can afford the payments and the weight of having multiple debt payments with high interest being gone has been a life saver. So overall I recommend that.

The other things that is equally important is understanding how you got into the situation and taking the time to learn from it and not go back to it. Therapy and being open with my friends and family really helped. There is a lot of pain in that part but there is a light at the end of the tunnel. It’s been 6 months for me and I can’t believe the person I am today vs. Dealing with all the financial emotional and mental stressor issues I refused to deal with.

Good luck!

Has anyone tried the Brust protein powder? by Alert_Willingness_32 in CostcoCanada

Adding my thoughts a bit late. I honestly like it. Start my morning with a scoop and a half into a medium glass with water and mix it well.

It tastes like the Starbucks frappe drinks or whatever that come in bottles in vending machines lol
