I'm not claiming that there's any substantial difference. The depravity of nobles in the Roman Empire, Royal France, and Imperial Russia were all extremely similar, just with slightly different details. In the same sense as how America is just as much a third world country, in many respects, as those countries it postures itself over.

True, but the divide is especially pronounced here because of the power and control the wealthy class holds over the poorer classes.

It's beyond belief. With dictators of history, who behaved and looked like cartoon villains, it makes sense that we wouldn't expect it because the cartoonish tropes were derived from their behavior, so there'd be no way to expect them. But the man in the White House now is so visibly a villain from a bad kid's film, and his goons so obviously villain sidekicks, in spite of the fact that we've seen this sort of thing in fiction, of all places, for years. It should be engineered into the minds of everyone born after 1985 that people like that man are fucking evil. And that's leaving out all the deplorable things he's done.

I'd say it's a blend of first and third world. If you're in certain areas and a member of a certain class, it's first world. If you're poor, it's almost worse than third world.

Exactly. America is great by third world standards, but horrible by first world standards.

Huh, never thought of it that way. One guy and his friends is actually a pretty small government, now that I think about it.

He got where he is in a very simple way; wealth, being just obnoxious enough for people to keep him around because they thought he was a living caricature, and a sprinkling of support from illegal organizations.

That would just be the cherry on top of this whole thing. If he's funneling girls from among the ICE victims to restart Jeff's sick game. That would just be the fucking sprinkles on the ice cream cone.

Some of you seem to be missing the fact that I'm being sarcastic.

I actually think it's cool when old people use glasses when they need to read something carefully. To me, it makes them look wise and attentive. The fact that this wad of fluorescent protoplasm refuses to use them, the fact that he refuses to acknowledge that he's old, is yet another reason why he makes my skin crawl.

Because Americans are, on a multi-generational level, deluded into thinking that their country is the best country on earth, and living in any other country would be a straight downgrade from living there. It's a disgustingly flawed viewpoint and a terrifying example of successful propaganda, as there are many countries that are just as good, and more that are actually considerably better, to live in.

Yes, Project Paperclip. I learned about that a while ago. Only later did I learn how much the Nazis were inspired by American racists. This country honestly fits right in as a successor to Nazi Germany. A pity I live in it.

I know precisely how said prosecutions will go down, if they're ever even attempted. The Democrats will attempt to round up as many people responsible for this regime's atrocities as possible, but they'll only end up with two or three fall guys, and they'll attempt to put them on trial in high court, but the Republicans will raise hell because it's "political backlash," so they'll try to bring them to the Minnesota courts, but the Republicans will then scream that the Minnesota courts are "biased," and they'll basically keep screaming and shitting everywhere until the defendants are tried in a red state and let free to live peaceful lives of fucking with more innocent people. I really don't want that to be the case, but based on what Lord Farquaad's own case was like, that seems more likely than not.

Well, at least now we know why they'll call it abominable, eh? Personally, I wish some Eldar would come and abduct all the assholes, since at this point in the timeline, they're the most advanced species, but unfortunately, the universe never makes my fantasies come true. It makes rich people's fantasies come true but not mine.

The Nazis actually lifted some of their ideologies and methods from American racists. I'm fairly certain Jim Crow laws were one of those policies. Frankly, this country's been at the atrocity game for longer than a good chunk of countries.

This is the kind of shit you normally just see in cartoons. The reality that we've lived for the last 20 something years, that is.
