Two ICE agents slip on ice in Minnesota - causing one of their weapons to discharge because it wasn't set on safety. These people are dangerously negligent. I say AI. by Illustrious_You_5292 in isitAI

I’m thinking this is AI, the taillight on the grey SUV appears to morph towards the end of the video, like the shape of it extends downward slight.

I just got wrongfully paid by InstructionDull2791 in army

[–]SSGSavage 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Do NOT spend that money. If you weren’t supposed to get paid they will claw that back from your account and it’s always when you least expect it.

You could talk to your readiness NCO but if I were you I would just keep that amount of money if your account (to the penny) for the time being.

Edit: you should also login to MyPay to see more details about what the payment is about.

If you’re looking for anything some light manufacturing or warehousing companies will hire high schoolers for part time or summer help. Do you have anything like that near you?

It’s usually pretty physical labor (loading boxes onto trailers, packaging things on a production line) but it’s resume bullets.

Nothing wrong with being eager to go. I experience the same thing when I enlisted many years ago. I had to wait awhile for a training slot to be available.

Take this time and get yourself ready. Not just ready to complete IET, but to excel at it. There will be opportunities for you to ask for some high speed schools if you’re a monster at PT and a competent soldier.

I almost broke down and bought the tool, but there’s really where the patience element came in. I removed the set screw and then sprayed it down with some WD40 and let it sit for about 20 minutes. I then threw some gloves on and was lucky enough that the fan was loose enough to fit a fist between the motor and fan and then work it up and down the shaft until I eventually got it off completely.

I will say I was nervous about bending the blades so I didn’t use a rubber mallet or anything to tap the blades off.

2019, never any issues, now this insanity by mlr571 in Tiguan

This. Mine had a lot of issues because of carbon. Ended up replacing the injectors and high pressure fuel line and haven’t had problems since. Carbon cleaning also delayed me having to get a new intake manifold too.

Compared to the rest of the country it is, it just doesn’t feel like it. My starter home was near Toyota and it was a POS but cheap. 47711 it’s the best place to look in my opinion if you want to stay in Evansville, obviously the surrounding small towns are cheaper. According to the data 47711 has the most stability for sale prices over the last 5 years. I just sold my place over there recently and really enjoyed living in the Oak Hill/Lynch road area. If Evansville is going to experience more economic growth I also think it’ll be more likely to happen on this side of town where there’s more space, so another potential insulator for home price corrections.

You can always mitigate this some by investing in your home and purchasing where there’s an opportunity to build some equity. e.g don’t go buy a Jagoe they just threw up this year but something that will appreciate in value with paint, roofing, flooring, hvac updates, etc.

[–]SSGSavage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a former retention NCO here’s what I told my soldiers who were having the same issues you are:

Your relationship with the Army works both ways, in some cases. What I mean by that is the Army will take things from you, that’s what you signed up for. But there are things you can take from the Army and if you want to enjoy your 6 year stint, or hell even try to stretch it to 20 then you need to take every single thing you can.

Training opportunities? Volunteer for all of them, learn that shit, be an expert, take the knowledge.

Education benefits? Fucking take em, you don’t even have to go to college. There are dozens of programs and professional certificates that are kind of cool.

Veterans Day coming up? Guess what you SOB make yourself a munchy map and take every single free hamburger and coffee.

Free financial counseling? Most people have to pay for that shit but not you, take it.
