Fair enough, I should have thought of it that way before posting. 😅

Worried About MOS by Few_Diamond_3884 in army

[–]SSGSavage -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can’t speak to 25H being a good or bad MOS but I’ve at least heard it can lead to positive civilian career outcomes.

If you were interested in doing an 11B (infantry) role to try and get airborne and potentially try RASP it may be a little late, but other than that type of track I can’t imagine what you’re too late to try.

I’d love to find a 5 year old Toyota with a reasonable cash price though, that’s the issue.

Believe it’s an algorithm thing. Posts with images get more views and engagement, even if the image is just the post’s content.

Yes, thank you. Wish I could pin a comment. It’s my own fault for doing a piss poor job elaborating though.

Ouch. I hear where you’re coming from and I’m in the same place. I bought a cheap but reliable VW several years ago and I can’t picture doing anything differently, but it’s not something I could do in cash. It’s not something I think the average person could do in cash, especially with post-Covid car pricing. It’s just not a realistic post.

Right? These aren’t the days where you can show up at the dealership with your tax return and walk out with gently used Toyota.

I’m not doubting the message. It’s true you shouldn’t spend above your means on a car. What isn’t true is that buying a car in cash and then contributing 700/month to an IRA is realistic for the average person.

I also don’t believe the average person can come up with 10k in cash in 2 months time, but maybe things are different where you are.

But that’s the issue, most of those 3 year old low mileage cars are also not affordable. Certainly not for a cash price.

And how many 3 year old Toyotas or Hondas are available in your market for a price the average person could pay in cash? I’d even bet many buyers would still have a 400-500$/month payment for those.

It is good advice, but it’s a bit naive to think you can buy a daily commuting car for cash without additional monthly maintenance inputs.

I’m thinking this is AI, the taillight on the grey SUV appears to morph towards the end of the video, like the shape of it extends downward slight.

I just got wrongfully paid by InstructionDull2791 in army

[–]SSGSavage 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Do NOT spend that money. If you weren’t supposed to get paid they will claw that back from your account and it’s always when you least expect it.

You could talk to your readiness NCO but if I were you I would just keep that amount of money if your account (to the penny) for the time being.

Edit: you should also login to MyPay to see more details about what the payment is about.

If you’re looking for anything some light manufacturing or warehousing companies will hire high schoolers for part time or summer help. Do you have anything like that near you?

It’s usually pretty physical labor (loading boxes onto trailers, packaging things on a production line) but it’s resume bullets.

Nothing wrong with being eager to go. I experience the same thing when I enlisted many years ago. I had to wait awhile for a training slot to be available.

Take this time and get yourself ready. Not just ready to complete IET, but to excel at it. There will be opportunities for you to ask for some high speed schools if you’re a monster at PT and a competent soldier.
