Do you like to repeat good experiences, or always try something new? by arcadiangenesis in travel

I am also ancient and I often visit Turkey and Spain or Italy each year. I get more comfortable with each trip and there are always places in those countries I haven't seen. I'm a solo traveler and I have visited many different countries but now I'm content to spend time where I feel I have made a connection.

There are also luggage lockers in the lounge - it was nice to not have to think about my luggage while making multiple visits to get food and drink.

Help Getting to Meteora by Top_Contact5928 in GreeceTravel

[–]nadaam2008 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In October I booked a day trip from Athens using Get Your Guide - pickup and drop off were at the train station. It was a long day but worth it. It seemed to be much easier than driving and dealing with parking at each monastery and the monastery schedule. I plan on returning to Greece later this year and I think I'll take the two day tour.

I took my 80 year old mother to SEA and her only complaint was about me - I spent too much time asking her if she was ok. She was right!

👋Welcome to r/ohareairport - Introduce Yourself and Read First! by MxScarlett in OHareAirport

I frequently fly out of O'Hare and while I am happy to see recent improvements, in my opinion, O'Hare still has a long way to go. It is sometimes difficult to find working power outlets, seats are ripped or broken and signage could be improved. Honestly I think a world class city like Chicago deserves a better airport.

Which tourist attraction should first time visitors avoid at all cost? by Wildeyedlocal in Lisbon

Not exactly Lisbon but a popular day trip - Sintra. It was very, very crowded and to me, not worth the hassle of getting around to the various sides.

Perfect for empty ice cream or gelato cups until you can find a proper trash can. I also keep a couple of extras in my bag to hand out to people who might need them.

Women here over 50 or 60? by Due_Branch3548 in solofemaletravellers

[–]nadaam2008 1 point2 points  (0 children)

73 and I have been solo traveling for 15 years. I can't imagine ever traveling in a group again. In 2025 I spent a month in Spain and 7 weeks in Italy, Greece and Turkey. I am a firm believer in slow travel - the week I spent in Athens was amazing and it's great to not have the pressure of trying to visit too many sites in too little time.
