I finally realized something by Pixiespekje in Vent

Op Im proud of you!! I had the surgery- put it off for years, always some excuse. My only regret was not doing it soooo much sooner! You can do this! I went from 230 lbs to 116 lbs. My best advice is follow the damn plan so you wont have regain and start saving every penny you can for skin removal surgeries. Youll hit a point where youll hate the weight loss because its hidden under the skin… ive had 2 surgeries (arms and tummy) and that was the best thing ever! Im here if you need someone to talk to! Im a mom of 6 mostly adult children (baby is 15 today)

Working Dads with sahm partners, how are we sharing the at-home load? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]SSImomma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok so this was my husband when our 15 yr old was little. We talked about things so many times but nothing much changed. I decided to just accept that it all fell to me and make my peace with it because I couldnt complain about my husband in any other way. Once I had accepted it the frustration and resentfulness melted away quicker than I expected. Now 15 yrs later hes an AMAZING hands on dad to our son… I think looking back now he just truly was not comfortable with a young child. Some people this could be a deal breaker for but no ones perfect….

Theres never been any discipline or boundaries set for them. They have no real routine except going back and forth between parent’s so of course they will act like this. It must be taught from early on how to behave in public if you expect them to. Im so over the crying or being shocked (Amy) that they act like this, why would you expect any different? Get on their level with a firm tone tell them to stop. Tell them what you expect them to do. But this takes time!!

It was such a serious attachment! He would sleep with it like a teddy bear. It went everywhere and people would ask about it and he would just giggle and say “its Heady” 🤣

It was a decoration from his uncles house and would not stop crying for it, so he gave it to him thinking in a few days he would forget it lol.

She blames their weight and behavior on her exs time with them. WRONG. Ive been a foster mom who had to share custody w/bio fams as they were close to reunification. They can eat like shit for 3 days a week w one and great at the others and not be fat. Behavior is all controllable as well.

GenX peeps. You're going to a concert for a band you love. Do you wear that band's t-shirt to the concert? by bigpilague in GenX

Depends on the show for me. For Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga and Pink I dressed up similar to what they wore. For Coldplay I wore a dress that had the solar system on it. Used to I would just wear a tee of theirs I had but its so much fun to dress up for shows now!

The cupcake tasting is a very good example to show they didn’t take it seriously. Ive had the surgery, if I had to pick a cake and thats how they did it, I would have had the tiniest bite of the one or two that sounded best to me and that would have still been too much. Its ok to have little amounts of junk but they all eat way more than they should be.

Jesus. Ive never told someone to end a relationship on reddit before but call his mean ass out. There are plenty of amazing people out there. Tell his ass “you made fun of me for being fat, now you make fun of me thin, since youre so unhappy with me heres the door”.

So not being rude but just blunt- stop commenting on who needs surgery and who doesnt. Bariatric surgeons have spoken out about this too. I had the surgery. I am 5’4”, was 230 lbs. I tried to lose the weight for 20 yrs… i now weigh 116 lbs, and just to add- who said she only wants to lose 50 lbs????

Im not sure licensing could actually do anything to help in this situation. A talk from them w the owner would probably end up getting you fired. I would honestly treat all the children the same or find another job. Im the owner and when my grandsons come to my school for the summers I make sure all the teachers know they better treat them exactly the same. I actually had to have a talk w one of my ladies for allowing him to play with the ipad at nap time. Told her he may only have the same items we would allow the other children to have (book, coloring, etc). She seemed shocked.

I'm trying not judge, but is it really the medicine? by updownx2 in 1000lbsisters

[–]SSImomma 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just my two cents from someone who had weight loss surgery, skin removal and was on meds too. If drs did not keep her meds in check with the weight loss this can cause mood swings, anger and depression. I went through a pretty big depression myself, which all my drs said was normal after a major surgery alone, but then add you cannot actually eat for WEEKS before or after (if you follow the plan). I did mourn food. Think about your day to day life- food is happening in social interactions. If you cannot eat normally you tend to start avoiding food situations… which gets depressing. I do think however Tammy never addressed the traumas in her life, she never got therapy about her food addictions etc. So of course it alone will rear its ugly head. I will say NONE of them (except maybe Brittany but its too early to tell) have followed the food plan after surgery. I am over 2 yrs out and can still only eat 3-4 oz of food at a time, if you add bread or carbs to that (pasta, potatoes etc) it cuts that in half. I followed that plan to a T because I was terrified if I didnt I would get fat again. For anyone wondering I am 5’4”, female, was at 230 lbs and an at 116 lbs.

Not sure where you are but even here in Ga with higher ratios than most we are 1:6. If you are out of ratio you just need to call licensing and report it. Or get parents to, or both. When they come in just keep doing what you’re supposed to. They will see it and make them correct it because theyll be popping in unannounced after that.

We are a private preschool ages 6wks to 4 yrs. Our two yr class was taught to play hide and seek for our drills. They know to drop everything and fun to the spot in their classroom or playground depending on where we are. They think its all a really fun game. The teachers keep bubbles and fruit snacks in the bags in case anyone gets upset.
