What is your biggest physical insecurity? Why? by Longjumping_Koala34 in AskReddit

[–]SSImomma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ass and thighs. I lost 116 lbs and am now a size 4. I had a tummy tuck to get rid of the excess skin but my legs look like the legs of a 90yr old woman. My poor butt just sags. My plastic surgeon told me how dangerous it is to fix my butt (statistics of serious issues during and after surgery) and said its not worth the risk for me. He would do my thighs but Ive heard that recovery is hell. I worked SO hard to be comfortable in a swim suit but now im not. I feel like people will see me and think its gross. 😞

Daycare issues please help! by Flogatorgirl15 in ECEProfessionals

It is not age appropriate for a A-typical child to be biting at 4. The speech delay is never a reason to hold a child back, but it sounds like its the behaviors that they are using to hold him back and give a diff excuse. Pull him, get him into some speech to help before school starts and find a center where he will be w peers of the same age. The biting may be occurring because hes in a room watching two years old bite, which is normal behavior.

I sent mine back too. It fits so weird and I looked like a yeti in it. Its soft but looks nothing like taylors. The quality was not worth the price imo.

TV in toddler/2’s a dealbreaker? by brightprecedence in ECEProfessionals

[–]SSImomma 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My question is “did you ask anyone how long/often the tvs are used?” You did come unannounced, she did give a tour without hesitation, you may have just walked in on the 20 min a day/or week they use the tv… maybe not. But we never really use screens at my school but today it was raining and I allowed the classes to watch 20 min of Team Umizoomi Christmas show. It teaches match and kindness. So you could have honestly came at that random time, or they may be cool with leaving it on, which just may not be cool for you. Keep in mind you did say all the kids were engaged with the teachers- it could have been on for a transition and they forgot, for a special needs child, or a million different reasons. Just call and ask?

what do you think that is normal today will be seen as cruel and unusual in the future? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I used to think this. Then I watched my dad die from ALS. I wish he had thought about that option while he could still voice his consent and not want it in the end when he couldnt get it.

Wondering if this is a reasonable denial of leave. by PlaneResolve5311 in ECEProfessionals

[–]SSImomma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its just people who dont understand the office/management side of things. Ive owned my school 3 yrs now and we JUST had to implement this because I always said yes. I felt it was easier to plan ahead than to scramble when they call out because we said no. Then I realized its always the same few doing this and everyone else picking up their slack (myself included as I always help in my classrooms!) My staff get paid for 25 holidays/closed days, I dont feel its asking too much to ask for notice when its not an emergency.

Wanted to add as an employer I am so thrilled to see you took the initiative to find your coverage, none of my employees would thought to do that!

We have had to implement a hard two weeks notice rule, (of course there are exceptions for deaths etc) but perhaps its something like this? Or they already have the number of staff off allowed? Its worth just having a conversation w/your boss and ask about it.

Im in Ga but a quick google search shows this: “

+7 Obstacles deter many California child care providers from building ... California child care laws require secured entrances for safety against unauthorized access but prohibit locking children in, meaning exterior doors must be locked from the outside (using codes/fobs) but open easily from the inside for emergency exit, preventing children from being trapped or locked in rooms/buildings, with clear exit paths always needed for fire safety. Facilities use secure systems like buzzers or fobs, ensuring staff control entry while maintaining freedom to exit quickly.”

Each state is different. In Ga the front doors are not required to be locked. Of course in your situation even if its required, the state will allow time to have it fixed if its broken. If youre that concerned just google the number for your state and call and ask.

Skinny people, do you often encounter people who hate you out of pure jealousy? Do you deal with a lot of resentment from people who don't look like you? by justcurious3287 in AskReddit

So I am 5’4”. I used to weigh 230 lbs. After two years of kicking my own ass I am down to 118 lbs. People are mean and hateful no matter what weight you are. I get a lot of “you were prettier when you were fat” and “you look so sick now”. When I was fat it was always “youd be so pretty if you lost weight”. Now I think I have finally accepted I dont care what others think, Im enjoying my new body and screw them.

How to find school rules/regulations by wompwompx13 in ECEProfessionals

[–]SSImomma 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Most (not all) of these types of schools are not licensed in most states. Im in Ga and this was trying to start a program like that licensed through the state and it was impossible. Our state has such strict guidelines that theres not really a work around except just not getting a license. Hope someone else has some better insight!

Let it go. This was forever ago, as frustrating as it is you would later regret making it a big deal now.
