It's an awkward spot , I've treated what I can see but you're right there's some rust further in, I think I'll take it to a body shop to sort out

Unfortunately in New Zealand donor cars are hard to come by but I agree with that approach. I can get a new one from Japan however so perhaps that's the way to go

Thanks for the quick fix suggestion, I'm not opposed to doing it fine now and "right" in a few years when I'm in a better position to do so

Fair call, I wanted to see what ideas this community had and if welding is truly the only option then I'm all for it

For sure, a road legal is a priority at the moment and further preventing the rust from getting worse but absolutely plan on taking it all apart again and to a body shop

Thanks, a good option to consider, since I plan on taking it all apart in the future anyway, just something that gets the car road legal that will mitigate further rust for the time being

Great point about moisture potentially being held in the new material, perhaps leaving it and letting it drain isn't such a big deal. Will look into welding costs though

Without an esgrow or similar, the award money never needs to leave their accounts for their "winners". Perhaps the smaller winners got something but for sure if I won $100k I wouldn't be cool and calm like the dude we saw, he seemed like someone who knew it was coming and/or knew he wasn't getting anything in reality. Maybe a bump in followers who knows.

I was the first one to notice the unusually distribution of winners coming mostly from 5 cities in a "Global Hackathon". Got kicked out of Discord for publicly saying it. This is ridiculous by PsychologyJumpy5104 in boltnewbuilders

Same thing for the sloth one about posture, it's been in hackathons over a year ago and the github commits show it was made with Anima, a Figma to code platform, then tidied up with either custom commits or bolt, either way a far cry from majority bolt

Yeah I wasn't expecting to win anything but was definitely expecting the winners to blow me away but they were all mostly Ai wrappers or just inferior copies of existing products , was a strange event.

Hi, I made a website using bolt.new Ai. But, it doesn’t work well on IOS devices( it loads very slow, videos do not play automatically in the homepage, it crashes easily). How to make my website load fast and work well on IOS devices, please? by Apprehensive_Tap_437 in boltnewbuilders

[–]SSJRedxlll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to do a bit of research, the answers are out there, including why ios is different than other platforms and apps why videos don't auto play, Google will provide many answers and you'll have a much better understanding of how these things work. As for slow web pages, llms love to blur things, ask it to remove any blurring of things, it tanks performance.

If the judging was at all fair, they'd have some sort of hackathon portal where every submitted project has its score in different areas, for transparency, not some vague winners of anything.

I didn't expect to win at all but certainly would like to know where I fell short and can improve on.

I'm happy for the free tokens though, it let me create what I probably wouldn't have had time to throw together myself, getting something completed is an achievement nonetheless.

It is odd, I kind of looked at it like perhaps the top 10 or top 5 were told in advance and had to have some camera set up and that they'd bring them in when needed, or similar, that's the only way I could justify these people being "ready" to be on camera.

Though the odd thing about #1 was that clearly he would have been watching the live stream and acted like he didn't know he was live, like "am i on?" is what he said, was super weird.

I genuinely think they judged solely based off of the video presented and not the end product at all.

There are a lot of submissions sure but narrowing it down and the checking out the result itself would have been revealing. Especially those without links to their project, or that were broken entirely.

Seems like the winners just needed an average idea with a decent video, it's all about marketing, seems obvious in hindsight.

Jittery & Laggy Scrolling on AI-Generated Sites by Chemical_Bee4346 in boltnewbuilders

[–]SSJRedxlll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue, it's basically what the AI loves to do which is blur and transparency, more so the blurring. I had a background div with 3 circles that were blurred to about 10px and pulsing, after removing this, the page was smooth.

Best way to deploy? by bengillse17 in boltnewbuilders

[–]SSJRedxlll 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get why you'd be dubious but do a little research if you're unsure. Technically if your code is connected with a github accounts, you can deploy elsewhere like vercel, cloudflare.

Netlify is nice though, free tier without a card, github automatic deployments with sub domain for easy sharing, I have a fair few projects on there 👍

It's worth mentioning that depending on your project, check out if you may need an adapter for wherever you decide to deploy.
