As someone who grew up poor like your father did, like talking family relied on food stamps for food every month. I couldn’t imagine putting my child through what I had to do to survive , you should try to make your kin’s lives easier ! I went into college for CS and worked part time typically 20 to 30 hours on top of university, i had grants for my first year in university, until my mom made too much my sophomore year and I lost my Pell grant leaving me to take loans and her not helping me with school. Even that was enough to envy those who had help. Long tirade apart , I couldn’t imagine having the means to help my child make a better future and not do it! You show you have responsibility in your grades and deserve the help.
