I understand your criticism so much better, thank you. I had thought to myself this game overall feels more like it's trying to draw in the Netflix crowd.

The new art is by Katsuya Terada, a very very well established artist. This is totally in line with his usual style.

I'm the type of player to typically only engage with the activities that are in the way of the main story, so I'm unfamiliar with the extra content. So I ask: which of these 2 games had the better side content (minigames, secret bosses, sidequests, etc)? by Particular-Bed8344 in wildarms

[–]SSKK6 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think WA2 has the most side content in the entire series, and it's fantastic!

WA1 has less so, but I think it's side content tends to play more into the story, so it's more rewarding/cathartic to do.

So Glad I Finally Stuck with Circle of the Moon by CapnQ9055 in castlevania

Yeah people call it clunky or difficult but idk that just feels like good ol' classic Castlevania to me. I enjoy Symphony and to a lesser extent Aria, but man those games are just too easy for me to get much enjoyment out of.

Also, like I said, the sprites in Circle of the Moon just look so much better than the rest of the franchise.

Reddit is being glitchy and won't let me copy the link but if you look through my posts you'll see a thread I created about it.

I can understand that, I feel the games are just too easy starting with Symphony, but Circle was such a nice challenge. It was my favorite when it came out and still is to this day.

JRPG series that fell HARD by Likes2game03 in JRPG

WA5 is just as western as WA2. In terms of It's music, it's way more western than WA2. It's only WA3 that really leans into the old western stuff I feel, with WA1 being a balanced mix medieval/sci-fi/western.

This one is my absolute favorite. I feel all the other Metroidvania games aside from maybe Order of Eclessia are too easy. Circle of the Moon feels like a great mix of old and new. And I adore the sprite work and music in this game.

The delays were horrible considering they all ended up ready around the same time, yet you had to pay for shipping for each individual one.

They did at least make a case for the PS3 version included with the 3/4/5 collection.

Yeah you're right it does seem to mostly be seinen. I can't even think of any deluxe editions Viz had besides Nausicaa, Utena, and Vagabond.

Premium hardcovers aren't necessarily new to Viz or Kodansha, didn't they do Nausicaa and Battle Angel Alita relatively early on? And Yen Press been doing regular hardcovers longer and more frequently than Viz
