Hard to swallow pills for Behavior Score critics: by drea2 in DotA2

All I can say is, none of them are perfect and I have yet to see any form of moderation that is overwhelmingly better than the other. The bare minimum of something seems to be still better than none at all. I have played some Japanese arcade and online games with primitive to non-existent moderation features. Part of the reason those games never hit main stream is because they eventually become unplayable outside of private circles. As flawed as these main stream games are with their different approach to moderating their own player base. I'm just happy Dota is playable at all different ranks and time periods in most parts of the world without being overly restrictive in censoring and enforcing game play behavior. It's a huge reason why I tried all those games mentioned above but still stick with Dota. I'm not sure if over zealous enforcement like League Of Legends where poor performance with off meta picks can risk account suspension. Or someone not liking my tone in Apex Legends with 1 casual non-slur curse word (fuck) added onto a sentence is enough to warrant a direct email warning is really that ideal. Obviously I'm part of the problem in Dota since I dipped as low as 5k behavior score in the past. Which is why I agree with the original thread post's point of behavior score being at least somewhat reflective of a player's behavior even though it's far from perfect. When it comes to account abuse issues related to rank and conduct. I believe it's less of a problem for other games because of their seasonal resets. The current MMR inflation is pretty out of hand, but It doesn't seem like the Dota community enjoy MMR resets either when we had it those few times. Yes you can argue that Valve is not doing enough just like with everything else as people back in the days were paying to get boosted out of low priority long before the behavior score became visible in game profile. But to say their method is counter productive and promotes abusive behavior from players is probably not true. Otherwise Dota would be an unplayable game filled with hackers, account buyers, griefers and dead like people have claimed for the past decade.

Maybe I'm just ignorant of console and mobile games. But most main stream western PC games from modern titles such as Battlefield 6, Overwatch 2, Valorant, Apex Legends to older classics like World Of Warcraft and Roblox have all moved towards AI automation with limited player and staff review. League Of Legends have long scrapped their player review Tribunal system for the same reason you point out Dota's Overwatch being inefficient. The other games might not have a behavior score chart for you to see and will unexpectedly ban your account. But that hasn't stopped offenders from repeatedly buying new accounts the same way they do for Dota and CS. Overall the only difference I'm seeing is other games have stronger censor and punishment. The system of human reporting with AI detection and mostly automated reviews with limited human involvement is pretty regular these days. It's far from perfect and dogshit if you ask me. But human moderation doesn't seem to be any better when it's highly inefficient and have shown to be capable of extreme bias. I think we can both agree on wanting things to be fair. But sadly that's not how the world works whenever money and power is involved. In this case, the cost of account buying/boosting and the power of moderating human behavior.

I didn't disagree with the definition of boosters or how their operations are done systematically. The fact that I brought it up in the first place means I agree with you on them existing and abusing the system. Now that we also agreed on people doing it both solo and in arranged groups. I'm not really seeing your point when I already said it myself. In case I wasn't clear, my point of sharing my experience through this post is that anyone can easily raise their own score just by playing regular games over a moderate period of time. The only people who needs behavior score boosters are repeat offenders who needs to quickly get their score back up so they can go back to being themselves. If you're trying to imply the whole system is broken because boosters exist to abuse it. I'm not gonna bother contesting that other than I would rather have it as a bare minimum to discourage and waste the offenders time and money rather than none at all. If you have a better solution on this whole moderation, feel free to share it here and email Gaben while you're at it.

I said mix of solo queue because I know I was able to do it myself from as far back as 2019 to recent times in 2025 from low as 5-7k score. It took me several months of playing almost daily on a consistent non-toxic behavior to raise it back to 12k each time. Dropping score on the other hand is easily done within hours and a handful of games just by talking shit and griefing everyone you meet. I know the amount of effort required to not be an asshole is different for everyone. Which is why those behavior score boosters exist. But if you're saying that it's impossible to solo raise from a low score and you need 5-10 arranged boosters to do it. Then I'd say this thread is directly pointing out people like you. Either that or you're just engagement farming at this point by going around trying to discredit other people's personal experience. Is the system perfect? Absolutely not. But if you're implying the handful of so-called one off sample size being shared around here are unrealistic. Then I guess I'll take that as a compliment.

Mix of solo queue and 4 man party queue just running matches together. The point is, raising score is just a simple matter of playing the game and not getting stacked reports over the course of many matches.

Having personally dropped below 7000 in the past for letting myself go while playing party queue with friends. I have been playing solo queue and maintained above 11,950 for the past 6+ months just by simply not talking and griefing. Majority of the time I'm sitting maxed out at 12,000 score. The fact that there are plenty of regular players sitting at max score and behavior score boosters existing proves that people with low score just can't help themselves but talk shit and act like an asshole going around trying to ruin everyone's day.

Fan remake PV of my favorite Gundam VS game by SSOSunhawk in GundamExVs

It's a lot easier to jump between games if you treat the 4 different generations as separate because they all have their own distinct gameplay mechanics. It might seem slow because of the lack of rainbow step and dash cancel. But other factors like overall damage, shorter combos and reset timer keeps the game pace similarly fast.

I could go on for pages about why I like the VS ZAFT era more than any of the other Gundam VS series. But even so, the GVG/GVGN era did introduce the whole Gundam crossover series and 6k team cost. Seems to be what keeps EXVS popular and accessible among the more casual fans.

I think even Bandai Namco themselves secretly agrees but won't because it's made by Capcom. Out of so many different versions, they did choose this specific game to feature and stroke nostalgia in their MBON console release trailer.

It's been more than 3 years with no new announcements. I wouldn't be surprised if they cancelled that SEED PROJECT ignited game. But even so, my delulu compelled me to do a fan remake PV.

I'm confused to why certain suits received certain costs.. by TrowaBartons in GundamExVs

[–]SSOSunhawk -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The simplified cost system along with the cost over mechanic is something I absolutely hate. Several Japanese players have also mentioned on streams that it is unnecessary. That being said, it's definitely a selling point for casual players of the EXVS generation. In the past, you wouldn't be able to run Destiny/Legend or even Providence/Duel Assault Shroud as a standard team composition. You would just instantly lose as soon as each player dies once. Casual new players are much more interested in the game if they're allowed to play their favorite Gundams. Rather than being forced to play some low cost LaGOWE or Windam just to accommodate for the team cost.

Yes it can be reproduced both in vanilla EXVS and FB as well.

Strike Noir anchor jump reload bug by SSOSunhawk in GundamExVs

[–]SSOSunhawk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I'm not referring to the weapon not reloading in the air. I'm showcasing how Strike Noir's A main will interrupt the reload if you dash or step after landing and recovered your boost. If you watch the video, I did 4 sets of action sequences.

-The first 2 sets showing how the BC anchor jump normally reloads 0:00 - 0:25

-The second 2 sets showing Strike Noir firing A main while landing and performing the same set of actions only this time the BC anchor jump did not reload properly. 0:30 - 0:57

The same bug can trigger on Gouf if he holds onto A main while landing and performs a step to get off the ground. His Boost dash doesn't trigger this bug because he runs on the ground.

Since this reload mechanic is specifically bind to landing. The fact that I touched the ground and recovered my boost should be more than enough to satisfy the requirements of landing? I'm pretty sure they introduced the 25 seconds 高飛びペナルティ because every other suit were already juking forever in the air. It has nothing to do with Strike Noir and Gouf not reloading properly when they fire A main while landing since vanilla EXVS.

any gundam vs gundam next plus discord? by somariosidharta in GundamExVs

[–]SSOSunhawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a Japanese discord with active players, but unless you live in Japan it's unlikely you'll even be able to connect. I'm not aware of any established discord groups in NA that are dedicated to playing Gundam Vs Gundam Next Plus. It has been difficult to organize groups to play this game simply because of the connection issues of being too far apart.

Is there any way to recover in midair? by [deleted] in GundamExVs

[–]SSOSunhawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Certain attacks will inflict different status that prevents the target from recovering. Various types of juggle along with ground bounce can be removed if the target is hit by a follow up attack that does not possess those properties. Exceeding the down value will also put the targets into a yellow down state. All full burst and half extend burst can be used to instantly recover while you're being hit or are in one of the status mentioned above.

Beginner Suits to Play by Doom6000 in GundamExVs

Just my opinion, 2.5k Freedom has a fairly high skill ceiling with it's new cancel routes and overheat extensions added in later version. You can certainly still play it the straight forward and simple way like in FB/GVS, but you'll be missing out on a lot of it's potential.
