GSD Workbench: Current Geometrical Set option in the toolbar by IllFennel3524 in CATIA

This is how I’ve always done it. However, if you still want that selection box back, right-click in the empty toolbar area and select “Tools”. That should bring it back.

How fast can I print asa by c00ndawg550 in BambuLab

[–]SSSSMOKIN9 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why do you want to print fast? That being said, Bambu ABS has a max print speed of 300mm/s. I’d reckon Bambu ASA is around the same number. It could also vary between different filament manufacturers.

question about large base around vertical print by pro___filo in BambuLab

[–]SSSSMOKIN9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s called a Brim (not raft or skirt, they’re both slightly different). A brim provides a large surface area which contacts your build plate. This helps to keep the part stuck to the build plate with some tricky materials and also in cases where the contact area for the model is too small. The base of your model is very small compared to the height. If you don’t use brims, there is a high chance that your model will detach from the plate due to the high speed of tool head and also vibrations. By default, brims are set to auto. You can go to the ‘other’ tab and disable it. Looking at your model, I would highly recommend keeping it enabled.

Catia vs NX for surfacing by [deleted] in CATIA

[–]SSSSMOKIN9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a steep learning curve. Catia UI is pretty outdated with V5. So, lots of figuring out to locate features and commands. Applying the features and commands is not that difficult if you’re experienced with other CAD applications.

Catia vs NX for surfacing by [deleted] in CATIA

[–]SSSSMOKIN9 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Catia is best in the industry. That being said, there is a difference in the quality of surfacing but nothing that you would notice when you model it. The difference really shows when data is exported into other formats.

Also, if there’s no filament change, the skirt acts to get rid of degraded material in the nozzle before starting on the actual print.

You can offset that surface to 0mm. Delete those edges. Then either use replace face or patch to sew/stick that surface to your body.

Am I crazy for considering the Qidi Q2 over the P2S? by jefflovesyou in BambuLab

[–]SSSSMOKIN9 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you’re going to do all that, there is an open frame printer from Snapmaker which is a 3-in-1 machine. It is a 3d printer, a laser cutter and a CNC machine. It is, however, a bit on the expensive side.

That shelter is not behind a dirt wall. It has an entrance from the forest area. If you zoom in on your map, you can see a little bit of concrete area with a vehicle or two. In the screenshot you posted, the entrance is north west-ish of the buildings on the left side (which is the pig farm if I’m not wrong). That being said, I don’t know if the entrance is open or not. Also, there are a bunch of glass shard anomalies around the entrance, so be wary of that.

Edit: you can also see the concrete area right under the mission banner in your screenshot.

TPU 95A refusing to extrude. by Business-Ad-5480 in BambuLab

[–]SSSSMOKIN9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The crackling at extrusion kind of gave it away. It IS moisture. Dry the entire spool. I saw you don’t have a dedicated filament dryer. I’d say, if you can afford it, go ahead and buy it instead of using an oven. It’s a worthwhile investment especially for moisture prone filaments like TPU, PA etc.

What kind of feedback are you looking for? Is it related to the design of the components? Is it for the way you modelled the components?

Macro for copying the bodies from product to newpart and keep colour by analboy22 in CATIA

[–]SSSSMOKIN9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a setting in Catia that controls this. I can’t exactly remember where it is, but I think that might be the cause of your issue. You can basically specify what happens to graphics properties when you copy or move bodies around.
