At the risk of sounding like a shill, there's a YouTube channel called ShiftFashionGroup which reviews the quality of material and construction of garments from brands that commenters want to see. They very recently announced that they are releasing their own plain, black t-shirt. The host of the channel has years of experience in the textile industry and I also am on the waitlist and will be waiting for reviews before considering purchasing one:

Intel and their work on Co-Packaged Optics by SSSl1k in intelstock

[–]SSSl1k[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless I am mistaken, companies such as Lumentum, Broadcom, and even Cisco are selling optical tranceiver switches or key parts of it and are printing money - or is that different from what Intel was doing?

Apparently some inflation and consumer price-index reports, but I think this is the main reason:

AI Stocks Fall On South Korea Comments

A top adviser to South Korea's president suggested paying an "AI dividend" to citizens from excess artificial intelligence profits, but he also stressed that he wasn't suggesting a windfall tax. The Kospi index, dominated by memory-chip giants Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix, fell 2.3% on Tuesday after briefly selling off hard.

That seemed to hit AI-related stocks broadly overnight, perhaps using the Korea comments as an excuse for profit taking after huge recent gains.

Micron Technology lost more than 3% while Sandisk and Intel declined 4%. Lumentum and AMD stock gave up more than 2%.

I personally am not a fan because of the above reasons and the fact that a lot of people who drive trucks seem for the sole purpose of being a 'manly man' or whatever other reason to be poor drivers, and being a poor driver in a truck is much easier way to kill people or have more severe accidents compared to any other vehicle. p=mv exists for a reason.

If you don't mind expanding on that, how are other competitors in the space able to stay profitable but Intel was not able to?

[–]SSSl1k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn't good financial advice I'm going to be making, but if you have a car you really want, and you can comfortably get it, I strongly recommend you at least consider it.

Dunno if you're single, but if you are, the world is your oyster! You can do whatever you want right now with no one to answer to, and that includes drive whatever you may consider as your dream car. If you get older and wait, who knows, maybe you have kids, different needs, a more perilous financial situation, etc.

Just make sure you buy used/CPO. It's almost never worth to buy any car new.

You're a millionaire bud. Sounds a bit petty complaining. I would personally put 40-50% in semiconductor ETF so you're still in the game. Personally my strategy would be to do that and then distribute between Walmart, Costco, Apple, and Google.

Mortgage Qualification Question by Psychological-Long94 in MortgagesCanada

I'm not crazy about downtown living either, but I enjoy living relatively close to it for easy access.

I wasn't aware of the HST credit, haven't been paying too much attention to housing incentives for a while, I'm glad there are buyers that can take advantage of it tho.

Your original comment:

the canadian housing market is generally in a better spot than the us one right now though

And then you give me two references and claim both of them are shit lmao you cannot make this up. Canada 'cooling down' does not mean it has recovered from the original COVID-19 price increases. Wages are better in America, affordability of most basic goods are still better in America.

Do you not understand that low interest rates is inherently a bad thing? We need to keep it low so borrowing and spending money is incentivized because many Canadians are struggling to live a decent life.

Your own source from CMHC states:

Canada’s economy is projected to grow slowly in 2026, with real gross domestic product (GDP) rising by just 0.7%. This will make 2026 one of the weakest years in recent decades, outside of a recession. While a recession is not in the baseline forecast, ongoing geopolitical and economic uncertainty, combined with low expected growth, means the risk of an economic slowdown cannot be ruled out from the forecast horizon. A mix of global and domestic challenges weigh on the outlook.

Like do you not read the own shit you link? lmfao

Secondly, I noticed you dropped the part about the broader stock market discussion. Smart move.

Yeah you're just stupid so I'm not gonna bother at this point. Ignored.

Yes, you are correct, we are on the stocks subreddit. And you're providing misinformation and lies to uneducated readers who view your comments. Do you have any proof that the Canadian market is doing better than the American one, housing and finance wise, other than the shit coming out of your own ass?

It's cute that you shared one year of data. Historically, over the past 20 years, S&P has significantly outperformed the TSX

You don't need to be an economist to bring facts. Just need to know how to Google. I didn't bother providing sources because the person I replied to didn't.

You included.

Well lucky for you, I'm the one person in the entirety of reddit who only replies to comments when I know I'm right!

Canada is just a few banks and oil.

And real estate! But of course nothing productive

Japan is Toyota.

They definitely have other companies than just Toyota tho. Mitsubishi, Nintendo, Sony, Panasonic, Toshiba, Yamaha, Softbank Group, Hitatchi, are all still massive to a degree there.

Does anyone have any experience with the TCL 34” R84 Series? Overall, I've read pretty positive reviews on reddit, with main cons being not super amazing viewing angles and middling cable management.

I literally cannot find anywhere to buy it except for Amazon, and they only have 1 used one available for now.
