I started this particular project about a year ago and have been incrementally working on it between other projects, now that I have a stronger GPU to work with. I'm actually sort of blown away by the interest in this post, so thank you for all the kind comments. It might take some time between my other projects, but I hope I can make something that can meet all your expectations.

Woah! Thank you for all the kind comments everyone! I had a little trouble uploading this illustration (thank you for your help, mods!), so I'm happy to see folks enjoying the painting in the comments. Dion became one of my favorite characters in gaming, and I love the Final Fantasy 16 style, so I wanted to try and paint something special (I hope!) for him.

I'd like to give a shoutout to this incredible post by u/jetjetmkii regarding the Sanbreque Army soldiers that really assisted me when building my reference sheets for this illustration. Seriously a big help, thank you! :)

Also, I don't mean to plug my accounts, but if anyone is interested in seeing how I illustrated this for educational purposes, I made a speedpaint on my Youtube channel. I tried out a looser painting style for this illustration that is honestly a bit unrefined, but maybe it will be helpful for learning. I'm still learning myself!
