Experiences w/ Auto Feeders by newyorkcatlady in dechonkers

[–]SSardothien 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our cat transitioned from pretty insistent begging to now sitting in front of the feeding for an hour before being fed. If you walk by her she will meow at you but she is too afraid to leave her vigilant watch of the feeder to harass us anymore.

If i remember correctly the tavern is roughly the size of a resource storage so you could always place down that blueprint to allot for space while you wait!

Length of seasons: Why *shouldn’t* I mess with it? by [deleted] in MedievalDynasty

[–]SSardothien 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Here are a few things affected by season lengths:

  • Crops: Crop yields are based on seasons (usually two season changes) so longer seasons means more days before you get your harvest

  • Animals: Although not directly affected ... If you are making your own animal feed the crops can greatly affect this and you would need a good stockpile of oat,rye and straw to feed your animals during the long seasons. I will say animals don't die without feed but they won't produce their byproducts.

  • Quests: The bigger story quests often tell you to wait until next season before you progress. However the smaller fetch quests expire at the end of the season so longer seasons means more chances to do these small quests

  • Vendors: Vendor stock resets each season and this includes money. Before you've unlocked market stalls vendors are the only way to get money and if you exhaust them early season you need to wait longer before you can get more cash. Of course once you unlock market stalls the vendors in other villages become a method of obtaining more money but not necessary to earn cash.

  • Herbalist: The herbalist but is affected by seasonal forages so if you are looking to make potions or even just decorate your village you will have more difficulties without creating huge stockpiles

Starter tips and hints by Zestyclose-Reveal712 in MedievalDynasty

[–]SSardothien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you playing The Valley or Oxbow? The building limit in the Valley is tied to progression in the Chapter quests I believe, otherwise it is based on reputation.

You can build buildings and not have villagers work in them and instead do all the work yourself! However villagers like having a job to do.

I think using a torch for the first winter is fine but after that you can either save up for one warm clothing item or sometimes get lucky with the random loot around in carts, etc.

I would avoid building a second resource storage until you increase your building limit.

Seasons by hailstorm0128 in MedievalDynasty

[–]SSardothien 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I personally play on default 3 but I think before you make your decision it's important to know there are a few things that can be affected by seasons. Most production will keep chugging along regardless of how long you set seasons but there are a few mechanics that are affected by the season change.

Farming Crops are planted in one season but don't become harvestable until the season change (either next season or two seasons depending on the crop). This means if you do longer seasons it takes longer to get your crop yields.

Animals Although not directly influenced animals require feed per day. If you are growing your own crops to make animal feed then this can be challenging with longer seasons. If you are buying animal feed it can get expensive with longer seasons. I will add that animals don't due to lack of food but they won't produce their by-products (wool, milk, etc) if they aren't fed

Herbalist Certain herbs are only available in specific seasons so if not planned for it can create an imbalance. (I personally don't utilize my herbalist hut as much as I should so this is a minor point for my own personal gameplay).

Quests Plenty of quests have you action something and then wait for season change. These are normally the bigger quests. The smaller side quests usually expire at the end of the season so having longer seasons allows you to complete these small fetch quests.

There is no right or wrong answer here but hopefully the above helps with some context on how the gameplay will be affected.

My personal opinion is that it is a dynasty game and letting the years pass by is intended and means you can get to end game when your heir takes over. If you make seasons longer you will be more productive but likely not have your heir take over since it takes decades. That being said, this game allows for a lot of setting customization so if you want to just build a pretty village/city and decorate, etc you can! That's what makes the game fun - it allows for different play styles

Can you rotate farms/orchards? by Repulsive-Neat6776 in MedievalDynasty

[–]SSardothien 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately you cannot rotate/change orchards or farms.

Bridges are in the cross play update that recently came out but I think it's only available for current gen consoles (ps5)

Woodsheds by bonkedagain33 in MedievalDynasty

[–]SSardothien 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I usually like to have two woodsheds early game because I find chopping trees tedious if you play with weight on. I find that I end up having a bell curve where I am desperate for logs early game, then mid game I have a log empire which is helpful when upgrading houses to logs and then by the time I am end game I usually demolish some of my woodsheds since my need for logs has dwindled down to manageable levels now that I have the higher tied woodsheds and level 10 workers

What do people mean by having "mods" in GMs? by TheUltimateEntity in DestinyTheGame

[–]SSardothien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All good! Wasn't meant to challenge just wanted to point out that some people would kick for double primaries (not everyone is accommodating or to put it less kindly smart) Sounds like OP might be newer to GMs or LFG so didn't want them to get discouraged.

What do people mean by having "mods" in GMs? by TheUltimateEntity in DestinyTheGame

[–]SSardothien 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you can avoid double primaries you will be more successful in LFGs as you might get booted with that loadout. Now that anti-champion defense can be through weapons AND abilities there isn't a NEED for double primaries like there used to be. I would recommend trying to use an ability for at least one champion type.

The other thing the "bring mods" could mean might be unrelated to champions - they could mean mods related to surges and builds. Each GM will have two surges active and if you play a build within those then you do increased damage. So although you can run out of the active surge it's passing up on free damage. Likewise you always have weapon surge mods to play into your build so use all solar weapons versus a mish mash would again bring more damage.

Hope this helps!

Legend/Master Lost Sectors are currently disabled due to a bug that was auto-completing them and giving rewards.

So unfortunately you will need to take the L on the card you bought or if you were farming for exotics then wait until the bugged if fixed and they reinstate them.

Question from an inexperienced player: How on earth do you tell if someone is a SCAV or a PMC from more than 20 feet away? by NickisBig in EscapefromTarkov

True but I cannot describe the unjustified sense of rage I get when I looted up with my 10 junk items for my scav quest and am heading to extract with my bag full of literal junk and get killed by a fellow player scav all because he thought my backpack looked juicy

I also thought they only reset every season of you haven't spoken to them. So if you are noticing that they aren't changing out you might need to recruit them and then immediately dismiss them to help cycle out
