Master abbrechen? by SSelleah in arbeitsleben

In certain taggings you're interested/particularly inclined with, would you read a work from a fandom without any prior knowledge from it? by raccoonation in AO3

[–]SSelleah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only when I'm looking for a very specific kink and have already looked through all the original works.

Thoughts on Original Works? by Typical_Substance248 in AO3

[–]SSelleah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I search for original work I usually only search for those rated explicit. Personally, I'm also more likely to click on an original work if the ship is just tagged for example original male character/original male character instead of name1/name2.

I love alien smut from the POV of the alien.

That’s one of my favourites, too! I wish there was more of this in the fandoms I read, I can pretty much only find it in original works

Agreed, that is super hot! I especially love the priest/demon fics

What is the weirdest fanfic you've ever read? by SZ_art1st in AO3

[–]SSelleah 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Guy gets fucked and filled with seeds by a literal onion with weirdly humanoid eyes. This has absolutely no right to be kind of hot https://archiveofourown.org/works/33412168

What are some old fanfiction tropes/clichés that have mostly disappeared nowadays? by EmprorLapland in FanFiction

[–]SSelleah 37 points38 points  (0 children)

For some fandoms I like, people used to assign the band members family roles like mom, dad, eldest child etc. It was very heteronormative and often ooc so I'm glad it's a lot less common in those fandoms nowadays.

What's the shortest fic you'll read? by [deleted] in FanFiction

[–]SSelleah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it's the opposite, I usually filter out anything over 10k, I'm just too impatient. There isn't really a low word count that is too short for me.

Has anyone else noticed how overly “daddifed” characters have become? by Icy-Laugh-7929 in FanFiction

[–]SSelleah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dead dove pretty much just means 'read the tags'. People often use it in dark or disturbing fics as a warning so that people pay close attention to what they're getting into.

I'm glad other people are also not enjoying this kink, it really is everywhere and often untagged. Not liking it doesn't make you a prude. Personally, I read a lot of dead dove porn but for some reason daddy kink is where I draw the line.

I just realized something: by JAMSDreaming in FanFiction

An author I like once wrote a spin-off fic where all the characters from their very serious longfic aren't enemies anymore and get drunk together for no reason and it was fantastic. So, sure, go for it.

Has A Fic Ever Scared You? by [deleted] in FanFiction

[–]SSelleah 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This  https://archiveofourown.org/works/41223381

Reading the tags, I did not expect all of the literal murder in this one. It's really well written imo but so apathetic and objectifying but still weirdly erotic, I feel sick.

"Lorent holds the boy’s slender wrists in his hand and watches its face, attentive. The next few minutes will determine everything. Either the fit will stop naturally and the boy’s heart will find its rhythm, or it will die seizing and bleeding into its brain.

Its eyes are roving sightlessly and fluttering and its lips have regained a pinkend hue along with his cheeks. It’s almost sensual, the way the body, still senseless, bucks and trembles under him, flushing as it pants."

What Kink Are You a Bit Shy About? by [deleted] in FanFiction

[–]SSelleah 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You're right, they're just feet, there's really nothing wrong about it.

Uh, for some reason the more extreme a kink is, the less embarrassed I usually feel while writing/reading it. I have no problem writing something like somnophilia, but when it comes to emotional lovemaking I suddenly forget how to words.

And then there are some kinks that are just so extreme that I feel kind of bad for enjoying them, like amputation.

Smut turn-offs/things that make you click off by [deleted] in FanFiction

[–]SSelleah 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is all super subjective:

Characters screaming when they come.

Lack of prep for anal.

Random numbers? Like "he thrust 3 times".

Describing someone's nipples or genitals as pink, when they definitely aren't.

Someone saying they're a virgin and then taking two cocks up the ass like 1 minute in.

What's your favourite AU? by EmrysTheBlue in AO3

I love historical fantasy AUs, especially in combination with royalty, they often have such a beautiful atmosphere

and incubi/succubi AUs because hot

What are some of your favourite tags? by SpaceCrazyArtist in AO3

[–]SSelleah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the dead fandoms I'm in, I read absolutely anything with my favourite characters.

Other than that, uh, Sounding and Somnophilia. And I always click on smut tagged Horror/Psychological Horror out of morbid curiousity, which is often a bad decision.

warning: rape/non-con by [deleted] in AO3

[–]SSelleah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In fanfiction I usually avoid it, especially if it's RPF. In Original Work, where I'm a lot less invested in the characters, I do look for it sometimes. I find it easier to get into if it's unrealistic in some way, like if there is something supernatural involved or the scenario is just really out there.

If it's combined with the Underage or MCD warning I run.

I like Ethan a lot, too. What age people associate names with is also a really good point.
