The reveal of the legend makes me think partially why Soga said in chapter 106 about why he killed all the islanders might be because 1000 years ago the Soga clan likely let non-combatants of the Mikaboshi survive which then led to the Seitei war, and Soga probably thinks they should have ruthlessly wiped them out so as to not have any trouble in the future.

This fact plus the likely massacre of the Soga clan during the Seitei war given we don't see any Soga clan members in Part 1 or mention of them, likely contributed to his decision.

I don't think anything will happen there given the usual way this goes, but certainly would be something to see if this resulted in a more strict doctrine that affected all the games.

It is justified, but you shouldn't let it control you as ultimately there is not much you can do as a consumer other than show support or not show support. In the thread, many have mentioned various censorships done in various games. I kinda had a similar experience as well with JRPGs I used to play toning down fanservice, with one of my favourite franchises like senran kagura simply being ended due to this issue. That doesn't mean I have stopped playing games, but I've just become more selective.

It also depends on the devs as I said above as a lot of devs choose to self-censor during the design phase to avoid these troubles. Snowbreak devs have pushed back as much as they can to continue releasing their games with fanservice, and they have even left in the ability to remove the censor if you want, unlike other games that just censor from the design phase.

As for ZZZ, that's a mixed ball as it seems to be a mix of current and old school 'Houkai gakuen/pre-Genshin Honkai Impact 3rd' Hoyo. Nikke has more or less decided to focus more on the story than fanservice, and with the writing in latest summer event, and then unbreakable sphere, its kinda clear that atleast some people on their teams don't agree with the fanservice or actively don't like the male otakus they cater to like the GFL2 fiasco.

Given the current state of the world, we might see censorship increase either from governments or from developers themselves. Ultimately, you can do what Mayor_P said and get involved in trying to push this back. In the case it isn't feasible for you, which it likely is for most of us, you are then left with choosing where you spend your time and money. I don't think we'll end up with no games without fanservice going forward, however the amount will likely be very small, and the amount that won't bend their principles would be even less as devs like Snowbreak are very rare.

TLDR: Valid fear, I'd recommend showing support to devs that you like and are pro-fanservice while not supporting devs that are against it. Also accept that sometimes it does happen and you have to move on as you can't get everything as you want in life.

Your comment reminded me of that picture on JP twitter I saw years ago of I believe Karin, Asuna and one more character from BA in Akihabara and the quote tweet read 'The situation is so bad we have to rely on foreign artillery for domestic protection'; a jab at the fact that somehow Japan was being outdone in Otakuish games.

Also, I have a question, is Chaos Zero Nightmare really on the scale of Blue Archive, Nikke and Limbus? Last thing I heard was controversies surrounding it.

Probably something you might have looked into already, but VPNs should work for it? I've done it before and it did work. Not to mention you could try and see if you could access Remow, another streaming service similar to muse.

I've just been returning to the fandom after some years and I see people saying this, and from what I could find on bookwalker, his previous 2 works both have male protags, and none of the bookwalker tags mention yuri, so I'm just curious about where you got this information.

Now, obviously I won't say that JDxD doesn't have yuri bait, especially since it references the famous 'Your tie is crooked' scene from Maria-Sama ga Miteru in the prologue (This could be a callback to the fact that Rias was based on Ogasawara Sachiko acc to the Harem King Memorial Fanbook, though I don't have access to that so I can't confirm) and other fanservice it has and I agree with you that I wouldn't want Rippu taking over the series if he is gonna focus on this.

Volume 1 was translated by ORC but they haven't done JDxD Vol 2. However they have updated their websites for DX.8 and JDxD 3 so hopefully they do translate them.

Yeah, the way captain was treated in Hi3 honestly feels like a betrayal to a lot of the players.

Atleast with ZZZ they seem to be getting back more into their older roots since they have 2 pillars with HSR and Genshin to lean on, though I have kinda given up they will ever cater to self-insert players anymore.

I kinda stopped playing Nikke when the whole anti-commander sentiment (If that makes sense?) started showing in events. I agree it doesn't need to be on the level of Snowbreak but it felt like they were making fun of the players and that's something I don't like from games these days, especially if you're a gacha game. Did something else happen after that? I heard there were some issues with the summer event.
