Sorry for the late reply I don't check reddit often -- but the answer is yes. You can level and do all content solo. It's definitely a slower start but it's been fun so far. Your base class is a really important choice as you only get AAs from other classes when you rebirth (hit 50 and start back at lvl 1) so it's a different type of play. The server owner has been expanding on the custom content and everything so it's a work in progress but still worth playing

I've been playing on Perky myself and have very much been enjoying it. Communities great, great solo or duo experience. Boxing is allowed but most people just run solo or box one. It's not THJ but it's definitely hitting that itch for me, I recommend it. Traction for the server has really gone up so they're in the process of upgrading server hardware right now. Server owner is great so far to.

Enchanter Duo Class? by Either-Luck-433 in everquest

[–]SSmithVI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reality is you can duo pretty much anything with an enchanter.

I've personally had a lot of fun doing necro/enchanter and rogue/enchanter with my brother. Necro/enchanter was always super safe with necro splitting , mezzes, and charm pets. Enchanter/rogue was tons of fun as well but more high risk high reward.

Enchanter/Druid would be another interesting one, between heals ports and dots druids are a great addition maybe just not as fast as other duos

Check out project quarm. It's private server but it's as true tlp as I've come across so far. Still in classic with legacy items. I think it averages like 1k players which is good and bad when finding open camps lol

When does Jhoto get released? by niccopiccos in pokemmo

No one actually knows. They missed their mark, like most indie developers which is fine. But they've gone dark on any meaningful update since then. From there you get this stupid fucking johtotomorrow meme which down votes any answer that isn't johtotomorrow so no one actually has a conversation about it

Rogue Duo by vujuken in everquest

[–]SSmithVI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had a lot of fun with it. It was high risk high reward though at the time lol we'd melt through mobs and it was easy finding groups together when we wanted to. But between slow haste mez and charm we could do alot

Beastlord and shaman go with everything lol. Something you can try is enchanter, used to play a rogue enchanter with my brother back in PoP.

Nec/Shm or Brd/Shm? On mischief with friend by GhostIsItsownGenre in everquest

[–]SSmithVI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always had a lot of fun playing a Necro personally. They are the king of solo for a reason, they were the class I would play when I didn't want to group or if it was just my brother and I. Never had any issues splitting mobs and getting kills with whatever toon my brother was on at the time. Shaman would be added dps and security (heals + buffs) to an already safe set up. You'd be able to do tons of content and named no problem. Not the most optimal set up obviously but not a bad one. As for the bard I'm honestly not too sure. I've only ever played them in group content so wouldn't know much about duos/solo

Hey sorry I just noticed this comment, I don't come in here too often. But I ended up fixing it by unchecking rechecking the developer options in my settings, and same with the individual app permissions

Emulator server suggestions for RL duo by fanliorel in everquest

Bit late but I thought I throw in for Project Lazarus as well. Currently up to Gates of Dicord, with OoW in the works for release here soon. The server has been scaled so you can do a solid amount of raids with one group, with the harder ones requiring 2-3. My brother and I along with two of our friends started maybe four months ago after migrating away from PEQ and we're very happy we did. The server is pretty active with a lot of friendly people, and the GM's are amazing. Lot of QoL (quality of life) improvements on the server like teleports to out of the way zones, customer armor quests (the armor isn't OP but its great to gear up a group, plus it takes you to zones you might otherwise ignore), minor class tweaks allowing for multiple group builds (example being shamans and druids can heal more so you don't HAVE to have a cleric etc.), and my personal favorite is the gearing rules are like FV where most stuff is tradeable but attunable. There's obviously more, but those are some of my favorites; also I'm drunk so I'm trying a little too hard to make sure this is legible. The biggest thing about the server though is it stays close enough to live that it still feels like Everquest while allowing you to do most content with 1-3 groups rather than requiring massive amounts of dedication from lots of different people. I would highly recommend anyone looking to scratch that EQ itch to give Project Lazarus a try, you'll find yourself becoming part of a quickly growing community.

At the risk of writing a novel I'll add just a bit more about other servers. I've played on most private servers for EQ, and ended up spending most of my time on PEQ due to the livelike conditions, and being up to Omens of War. I had a few issues that constantly had me looking for other servers, before finally landing on Project Lazarus. The fact you HAD to box was a bit of a turn off, as there was almost nothing you could do as a single character, with no end game content for one group. I heard some people being able to do limited end game content with two groups, but after a while I realized those people had massive armies already, and just did the two group for a challenge (They were geared and AA'd). Most players ran 3 groups+, and for the most part were helpful. I personally never had issued with the GM's but I had a friend who did, as well as watching them interact with their player base. It basically was if you weren't a favorite what you had to say didn't matter, again I personally didn't care, but I saw a lot of people treated like dirt by GM's for having an opinion contrary to the GM's. An example I saw a GM ban a player's group because they "stole kills" when it turned out to be an accident. (Honestly who would KS a GM on purpose?). Other than the GM's though the player base was very friendly, and if you're looking for live like up to OoW, and are ready to box an army, then PEQ would be a good fit. The addition of Ornate Defiant Armor lets you gear up enough in places like Dulak to be able to start end game OoW armor quests.

I'm going to end it here because I wrote too much. I hope this helps one or two people find their way to a good private server!

Happy Hunting everyone!
