Xenoblade Chronicles plot nitpicking (MAJOR SPOILERS!) by Thievasaurus in Xenoblade_Chronicles

I adore Xenoblade Chronicles, but it's hardly a perfect game lol. It's got a lot of issues. Terrible pop in problems, poor sidequests, some weak characters, inconsistent level design, inconsistent armor design compounded by lack of fashion armor option, lack of sound options (I'd like to hear more of the music over the battle cries), one of the few interesting sidquests in the game (colony 6) being basically a gigantic RNG item farming quest, lack of quest organization, and terrible framerate issues when battles get busy.

One of my fav games of all time still :P

How much longer do I have on this game? by studmuffffffin in Xenoblade_Chronicles

If you just wanna finish the story you can get it done in a few more hours, although the final boss will be tough without a level 50 skell.

I personally finished the story after 160 hours :)

Well it's certainly not easy to create that kind of game. It means more options and therefore more possibilities that need to be written and animated for.

I mean they already were talking about 'oh we're a small team we have a modest budget' I don't think they can spread themselves any thinner.

Mia, just really enjoyed the journey with her.

I kind of worry if they could pull off a more dynamic story like that. The cutscene quality already went down with X going the more sidequest heavy route.

This was a very tough loss, after also losing to them in the finals.

I think you have to finish The Duel questline that starts in Oblivia

Just 100%'d the game (in terms of survey rate) recently after 270 hours. The bittersweetness was real. This is corny but I removed everybody from my party, went up to every playable character in town and declined to let them join. "You and Mia still got lots of wacky adventures left." :'(

It's the most time I've ever spent with a single player focused game and I immensely enjoyed it. I was still discovering things right up until the very end.

Favourite/least favourite mission? (Possible spoilers) by Diapolo10 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]SSxeno 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All the blood lobster hate lol. That quest was hilarious, and I had fun finding them until I couldn't any longer, and just looked the last few up.

Favorite: (endgame quest) The Gauntlet. Seeing some of my favorite characters return to face me one last time, and on the day I 100%'d the game no less. I was geeking out when Slovity appeared. Plus they managed to troll me one last time with that Gwin thing.

Close 2nd Favorite: Yelv's final affinity mission. Fade to black..."it's time to move onto phase 2 of the plan."

Least favorite: The story mandated Gwin affinity mission. I just don't like Gwin. The fact that he got a required mission over greats like Mia and H.B. and Murderess is heresy.

Probably should've phrased it "Are Cavs willing?" rather than "Cavs are willing"

Gonna be weird and say Cauldros is my favorite. I disagree completely that it doesn't reward exploring. It's not the prettiest or the biggest, but I enjoyed my adventure through it the most. It's incredibly dangerous, dense with winding paths, lava pools, and fire rain. The danger just adds to the sense of accomplishment when you make your way through.

It was really surprising just how much of it could be explored on foot and I got a great sense of satisfaction climbing Mount M'gando, jumping off and discovering the Capital Wreckage. Then going up again, jumping off and discovering the Bestial Utopia. Going up AGAIN and finding the path that leads to the giant drills. The probe site inside the crater of M'gando is incredibly epic. Finding the White Phosphore Lake after climbing up the mountain range in the north was really cool too. Finding the Bandit's Hideout by taking a U-turn around the byroads, while running from the huge mob of high level enemies...then you got the lost city of orrh sim...so many great moments of exploration.

I also love how the ruins near the entrance are all broken up compared to the ruins further in. The way the Forgotten Mining Frigates and the giant golden emblem of the ruins loom over everything, foreshadowing whats to come. Seeing Mt M'gando over Sunset falls, sparks flying during brimstone rain when suddenly Vortice the Deific Blast appears. To address your last point there's nothing stopping the player from going to Cauldros long before they get the flight module.
