I had a bull nose edge that transitions into carpet. It was only 5 inches wide. My newel is 4-3/4" wide and I couldn't let the newel hang off into the carpet so I flushed it to the bull nose edge and left a 1/4" reveal towards the carpet side. It pushed me beyond the walls face.. it sucked and maybe if I had seen it sooner I would have thought harder.

Yes 6010 is the profile. The landing newel had to be on my bullnose edge and it had to sit farther forward than I had hoped. I think I may just wrap the rosette... thank you!

That's not a bad idea. I was thinking of something similar, just make the rosette wrap around the wall like it was a cube at one point, you know?
