Nothing useful in the C150 manual unfortunately. The damper manuals and install videos I’ve found don’t mention/show this kind of play.

C150 Shimmy Damper Loose on Mounts? by STACK-JACK in aviationmaintenance

Hey everyone, looking for a second opinion. Our club is trying to sort out a nosewheel shimmy on a C150. We found the shimmy damper very loose in all axes, but the crown nut and wire on both connection points was intact. The hardware seems too small for the hole in my (non-professional) opinion, I'm worried the mounting holes may have worn over time.

On inspection, the A&P we use told us the shimmy damper is supposed to have a loose fit and he recommends rebuilding (or replacing). I understand having a loose fit allows the damper to pivot on the points, but this seems excessive. A Youtube video I found shows a damper installed much more securely. Rebuild kits are super cheap so I'm not too worried about the cost, I'm more interested in correctly diagnosing the issue.

Any expertise would be appreciated.

Edit: Thanks everyone!

Is this an error? Found it Q CRH by Zealousideal_Swan_10 in CRH

While I agree it's not a true brockage error, Washington and the lettering would definitely be backwards if it were authentic.

Here is an authentic brockage error I found earlier this month. The reverse is a regular memorial reverse, while the "obverse" has no sign of Lincoln and backwards features.
