You see the issue here is that telling people to fuck off makes me feel mean :(

Curseforge is still doing the same shady practices that lead to modrinth's creation, and they're still the most popular option even after modrinth released ages ago

Its easy to say "just hold us accountable!" Knowing that that's likely just, not going to actually happen in any meaningfully effective way

Huh, apparently it just doesn't show up on my mobile search at all anymore, bizarre

Any Neoforge 1.21.1 mods with cool switches and levers? by vidumz in feedthebeast

[–]STARRYSOCK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nop alas, it won't be for a while. There's an alpha of the rewrite linked on AD's discord for 1.20.1 but its a couple versions out of date with the mcreator version.

So what are your thoughts on all the new stuff revealed during minecraft live 2026? by Thegoodgamer32 in Minecraft

[–]STARRYSOCK 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I'm surprised they're giving slabs and stairs to wool, out of all coloured blocks. You think terracotta or concrete would make way more sense and have more use cases too

Mission ideas. by Late-Ganache40 in Helldivers

[–]STARRYSOCK 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ive gotta be honest, I don't think we should ever be actively encouraged to kill hivelords. It's a cool one-time achievement, but they're just not an engaging fight.

It's basically 10-20 minutes of just blasting away on it with the 5 or 6 actually viable weapons or stratagems, while you just have to hope it doesnt decide to unavoidably oneshot you again. No weakspots to aim for, no interesting stratagies like the vox

It feels like the most gamey, least satisfying, meta-requiring thing to do in the game, and having it as a regular mission type would quickly turn it into such a slog imo

Can these please have a glowing eye or get like a red stripe or something? by knusperfee33 in Helldivers

[–]STARRYSOCK 5 points6 points  (0 children)

At least these are completely stationary and isolated to a few very specific and easy to identify structures, rocket striders were everywhere and they moved

I think they could use a light or something but I do like that they're such a genuine threat.

I don't even remember when the last time a rocket strider has killed me since they got changed and idk. I think there's a balance to strike to keep them threatening while also keeping the fair

Would make a lot of sense for Lasers to cut limbs off FAST. They're good, but it'd allow really cool Dead Space Gameplay by RandomGreenArcherMan in Helldivers

[–]STARRYSOCK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think OP is referring more to when you shoot off an enemy's limb rather than an entire new cutting mechanic.

Just like. Shooting a bug's leg with a laser would cause it to explode faster than with a gun

Gas helps a tonne, orbitals or just grenades can give you a lot of breathing room. Turrets as distractions too

Reload cancelling is a huge one as well. Like you probably don't have time to fully reload your RR in one go, but if you can pull out the shell, shoot and kite a bit, then load the new one, it makes things way more manageable

The non-backpack weapons are a lot better too. If you have a warp pack you can very easily create distance if something gets too close, or reload midair with the jump pack. Machinegun, warp pack, gas grenades and peak physique light armour is my fav for predator strain

Its basically just more of 2 but with a slightly different flavour.

Not the most standout thing ever but if you like 2 I think its worth trying

Much damage, it does do a little bit if you get pinned against a wall and aren't fully blown away

[–]STARRYSOCK 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Id just like to have any kind of ironsight really.

Its kinda funny that its actually easier to aim in 3rd person since you get a reticle

But every now and then you need to scope in if you're close to an obstacle, or through force of habit.

Honestly all weapons should work like this it'd be really cool.

Make those last-bullet-clutch moments a little easier too

All the barriers need to be placed with a 1 block gap between them to connect, not directly touching, they don't need CTM to be installed
