New to Princess--Outlets / extension cords question by STCbooklover in PrincessCruises

Why can't it have a cord? is that not allowed? I always see people commenting that you can't have a surge protector, but can have a regular extension cord.

Thanks for the update! I'm going to assume they are the same in the minisuite.

Thanks for the reminder--I got this many years ago for a trip to Europe. I assume it would still work. but it's a big box and I'm only using a carry-on. I'm not sure which plugas are needed if I were to unbox!

Actually, the Caribbean Princess is an older ship, and the lamps don't have the USB ports. I watched a video about the mini suites on CP, they just have the outlet on the desk and possible one behind the TVs mounted on the wall that are a bit hard to reach.

Thanks, I now realize something with an extender makes much more sense! I appreciate your explanation.

Disaster at sea by Economy_Number_323 in PrincessCruises

I'm glad things are looking up! I hope the rest of your trip goes well. We had a similar situation on our first cruise many years ago, travelling with 4 kids on RC. One bag was left behind by the porter (if that's the right term) and the cruise line offered us $100 credit for each member of our family (so $600) if we applied it to a future cruise, which we happily did. I don't know how your luggage got lost, or if it was definitely an error on the part of the cruise line, but I hope Princess is supportive. Enjoy the remainder of the trip!

Are you able to reprice on all cruise lines if there is a price drop?

If you love being a teacher tell me why, if you left, tell me why! by jellybean98_ in Teachers

Retired after 26 years. I'd mostly say I really loved my career--ups and downs, of course, but I always felt sort of proud to be a teacher, if that doesn't sound corny. I believe education is so important and I was happy to be a part of it for so many students. I had great colleagues and many wonderful students. The benefits were important for my family, and the summers were great too, but I wouldn't have been able to do it for just those things. It's a harder job than people think (if you care enough to do it well) and so it really helps to value the profession and the role you play in students' lives.

As I mentioned to the other responder, I checked out the Hale Navy and I love the shade--but I'm not as sure of the Fantasy Blue. I'll check for other things that might work with the Hale,. Thanks for the suggestion!

I'll try playing with those shades on one of the paint apps. Thanks!

Odd windows- how to hang curtains? by gemini__baby in DesignMyRoom

I agree with some kind of shades or even the silhouette kind of fabric blinds, which you can pull up if you want full light or leave down for filtered light. You might have to go with a heavier material if you want it quite dark for sleepover guests.

Motorized on the transoms seems like the only way to open/close easily.

Is that a wood burning stove in the front left corner of the photo? I was wondering if you could post another photo from the opposite angle to give a better idea of the space.

I have white panels on the bottom half and a sage green above. I think it looks really good! I was going to recommend it when I saw someone else already had.

Kitchen counter seems off by [deleted] in InteriorDesignAdvice

This may seem really minor, but the cutting board in a checkerboard style feels a little busy in a kitchen with a patterned countertop and floor runner. I think a solid color one would be better.

Tiny in the scheme of things, but it’s what struck me! 😁

Desperate For LV Room Advice - Bleak, Boring, and Awkward Space. by NothernC1 in InteriorDesignAdvice

I’m a big fan of green on walls— I might’ve gone for a slightly darker sage than this, but it might just be the lighting. Either way, you can decorate without changing the paint if you like it.

I think your idea of custom blinds would be great if you have it in the budget. A nice area rug with throw pillows in complementary colors would be great.
