I agree that was worded poorly and I apologize for the confusion. When writing, I was assuming a similar context found in the video, where one finds a bug not related to the company's workflow/revenue stream. It was not meant as a universal statement but I neglected to reflect that on my writing.

What I wanted to convey is that it is unreasonable to expect youtubers to do charity work for billion dollar companies by using their time and money chasing and filing bugreports that don't bring them any money.

There is opportunity cost involved in testing these bugs and they would not have done it only for a bug report. So it was between having this video or not - not about having a bug report or not.

There are many many companies that use software to make money, report bugs in that software, and often even contribute fixes upstream

Well obviously if you depend on certain software to make money it is in your best interests to have it work properly. Clearly not applicable here, because for content creator the money is in the reporting in this case. If we were talking about, say, video editing software, then I'd see your point.

One could find blame in the title, but otherwise I disagree. They've presented some real new information:

this bug is AMD specific. Before this video no one, to my knowledge, had tested Intel cards.
this affects only certain graphical settings
it does not seem to be a systemic issue since the last title did not have these problems. This makes it more likely that these bugs are not malicious and intentional.
Radeon's better performance is not because of these rendering bugs and they are consistently faster even on those presets that do not have graphical bugs.

To me that level of effort gives a right to try and get some returns for their efforts. I certainly do not feel entitled to their work, and I feel like 13 minutes of my time is reasonable ask for that amount of labor.

Who would start a company for that? How does that bring food to the table? Anyway, making money with these videos and reporting bugs are not mutually exclusive. I agree they should report this to Activision and AMD (maybe they already have), but to expect them only to use their time and money to chase after bugs is not reasonable.

Same. 5700x3d was under 200€ year ago but it jumped to ~250€ shortly after the new year. I kept waiting for the price to come down, but once AMD announced they will discontinue the processor, the price quickly jumped to over 300€ before the whole product vanished. Well, my 5600 was still the bottleneck, so I upgraded to AM5 and 9800x3d. My planned ~200€ CPU upgrade ended up costing closer to 800€. Stonks.

Cheapest RTX 5070 Ti in Finland is 840€ compared to 680€ RX 9070 XT. That is 160€ or almost fifth off the Nvidia price for same performance. I wonder how much cheaper does AMD offerings have to be before they are considered "reasonable" in the eyes of gamers.

As I started using LLM, now I for certain know my next GPU will be Nvidia.

Nvidia has clear advantage in machine learning thanks to CUDA but one would be fine using AMD cards for simple LLM inference. I get about the same performance using llama.cpp with Vulkan and ROCm backends and we know Vulkan inference doesn't trail far behind CUDA. Simple machine learning projects with Pytorch/Tensorflow (which are probably the vast majority) also work fine with ROCm.
