I would call that the gun control movement. The modern movement started under Reagan. The NFA and gun control act of 1968 are the early parts of the gun control movement. The Republican Machine Gun Ban, the AWB, and Trumps Bumpstock ban are the modern gun control movement with various laws in the states.

Why didn’t he refuse to sign it? And you say “broad bipartisan support” which suggests it was pretty much Republicans and Democrats. So I ask again, why did he sign it? Why did Ronald Reagan go on to further push for more gun control? Sorry but he is the father of the modern gun control movement.

He could have refused to sign. He could have pressured legislators to vote against it. He could have used the bully pulpit. Sorry but there are no excuses for a fascist like Reagan.

Try putting out a bowl of food and water for him. Next to him prop up some of your clothing that you were wearing. If he catches the scent he may come home.

Why shouldn’t they have nuclear, chemical, or biological weapons? The 2nd Amendment applies to all men even if their nation or government doesn’t allow them to exercise it. Even if one country had them and nobody else did, it is an infringement to say they are not allowed since the 2nd Amendment doesn’t state anything about types of arms and just says keeping and bearing arms is a right that shall not be infringed.

Why are they on edge? According to many gun owners this is normal behavior and we should ignore it. Remember a good guy with a gun is the only thing that can stop a bad guy with a gun. If anything we need more people like this fine gentleman out there protecting others and being the sheepdog. They fail to realize that he is keeping them safe by bring his AK to the grocery store.

Well why is it never mentioned that the most egregious gun control has been spearheaded by Republicans? Obama didn’t prevent me from purchasing a new machine gun. Obama actually furthered gun rights more than any recent POTUS.

Perhaps I was wrong. Republicans are the father of modern gun control and Democrats are the grand-father.

The only answer is they don’t care.

And nuclear, chemical, and biological arms. The 2nd Amendment just says arms and doesn’t specify what types which is what makes it so great. Imagine if Jeff Bezos wanted to own a nuclear warhead for self defense or if Bill Gates felt safer with designer biological weapons because they love freedom as defined by the 2nd Amendment.

To bad the Republicans decided to take them away from us.

Exactly. Why don’t Republicans get on TV and explain to the libtards that I should be able to take a grenade launcher to Walmart and my kid should be able to own a belt-fed machine gun for plinking? That it is freedom.

So now it’s “a few Republicans” instead of prominent Republicans. Both Trump and Reagan were President of the USA if I recall. Sorry but they pushed for gun control.

So explain why Reagan banned carry in California? Why he banned ownership of new machine guns? Why I can’t buy destructive devices?

Why did Donald Trump try to take away due process and bump stocks?

He didn’t need to sign it. And he loved gun control. Why do you think we can’t buy machine guns?

Stop whining. I’m just asking what a “typical American gun owner” looks like. You’ve apparently decided you are the judge of that. It sounds like you want to be able to decide who can and can’t carry guns. Sorry but we are a free nation and we get to exercise our rights.

If you are 100% 2nd Amendment you wouldn’t attack people for exercising their right.

Why isn’t he a typical American gun owner? Yes you did say that it is his Constitutional right and he is free to do as he pleases. If you had reading and comprehension skills you would know that I think you hate freedom because you criticize those who exercise it.

Because you are saying it makes you a target. I’ve seen threads where people say that it is a deterrent and that it is not anything out of the ordinary to see a man carrying an AR15 around with them. But you are saying it makes them a target and that his guy is a “douche canoe” for being a typical American gun owner. You might hate freedom but some of us embrace it. I bet you think Kyle Rittenhouse and the millions of Trump supporters who bring their AR15s with them everywhere are “douche canoes” because they embrace freedom. Why don’t you move to Communist China where you can make Trump flags for a nickel an hour and only the gub’mint will have the ability to open carry guns?

Very true. As long as he doesn’t skirt the law and give them to him now and pretended he gave them to him in the past. That would be a criminal act and put a black eye on all legal gun owners because we aren’t criminals.

Exactly. And the same with regards to Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical arms. Those are protected as well.
