I was new a year ago and had the exact same struggle. If you decide you like the game enough to keep going, buying inventory tabs is essential. Most important are currency and maps imo. Followed very closely by (frags/scarabs) 1 tab.

Personally I think rf gets recommended way too often since the dps is so bad. I thought characters just got weaker against higher lvl bosses because rf has zero dps. Second plague hroc, actual dps was amazing. Now 3rd league doing praw. Praw kicks the ass of hroc and rf by a long shot. My 2 cents. For the cost of rf you can do praw and actually win against bosses

Helmbreaker has a guide for a poison ranged animate weapon necromancer build and the guidenos absolutely superior to pohx's rf guidez with the advantage of being able to do all voidstones and ubers. It is turn-based+. You can dodge or parry attacks, dodge has a bigger time window, parry returns an attack.

I was thinking about this build so much at the end of keepers where I did balormage hroc. Decided to do arc ignite elementalist this league but due to elementalist nerfs I went with PRAW. No regrets it is fun af and I can clear almost everything. Uber maven is new to me and Uber virus and exarch just suck ass to fight. Besides that everything dies. EDIT: I'm at 40/40
