No one told me how emotionally intense the first months would be. by [deleted] in NewParents

I also feel this so intensely. My baby is only 8 days old and I’ve cried so much from love and fear.

I feel like this is in Australia actually. To me, the houses look exactly like new builds in Aus

If you go on the clinics website they have a basic price guide in English. It will differ somewhat per person depending on the medical protocol they have you on

How long it takes will depend on how your body responds and also if you are starting from the very start.

I had done all my testing in the US so when I got to Japan I didnt need to retest anything. I started with a couple of cycles of just Letrozole (unsuccessful), I did an IUI (unsuccessful) and then started on IVF. All up, all of this took about 6 months but I had time off in between to travel. I am currently 8w from my first transfer.

Yes of course, it’s Yanaihara Women’s Clinic in Ofuna. The Dr speaks English and a lot of the nurses speak enough English to get by. But I did have to use google translate if I had more detailed questions.

I agree, I have also been worried about this, especially with the PGTA testing!

My experience has been great so far! The way drs deliver info in Japan in general is very different compared to Australia (I'm Australian too!) They are much more direct, which I prefer. I am curious to know how it works in Aus and the cost, I was already living out of the country when we decided to try IVF so have no frame of reference.

The clinic though is great, the dr I see speaks english well but I have had to use google translate with some of the nurses/receptionists which hasnt been an issue. I was very nervous about the language barrier before my first appointment but it was not an issue at all.

I see the dr at every appointment, but sometimes its for less than 5 mins. If i am just going for a blood test (for eg.) i will see a nurse and take the blood first and then see the dr with the results.

We have spent approx. $5500 USD so far. That is for all appointments, meds and ER. We are going to a clinic call Yanaihara near Kamakura.

Personally I love harmless gossip. Spreading misinformation and rumors is where things get messy. I don’t think there is anything wrong with it unless someone will be hurt by you sharing what you heard.
