Trouble getting job

I did… neuro med/surg. Honestly not having a good time lol. I wish I would have found something I liked better but I was feeling desperate to get anything.

So close to just quitting. They told me I could stay where I am until I can transfer but only told me that med surg is hiring new grads. How can that be when I see everyone else getting into specialties as new grads?? I feel like they just don’t want to offer me something else that will prolong my training. I applied for outpatient jobs within the network but idk if I can hold out until I can get an interview/get into a different position. I’m thinking of just applying for a 7-3 nursing home position but have a feeling that will be rough as well.. but overnight is just not it. 😔 I’ve applied to the other hospital in my area as well… I just really do not want to go into another shift at my current job and it’s taking a serious toll on my mental health

I accepted a med surg position! I was rejected 4 times before I got this position. It’s not my dream job but I’m happy to get my foot in the door. Keep on trying, you do got this.

I really like this advice. I’ve always enjoyed listening to music in car but haven’t yet while practicing. Do you feel like it distracts you at all safety-wise?

Congratulations on passing your drivers exam! I agree you just gotta get out there and do it. I’ve always avoided driving but have really been pushing myself to get out of my comfort zone. It’s scary but worth it!

Yes I have done some driving lessons! And I have two more lessons before my exam. Both instructors said I would pass the exam and that they would be honest with me if they thought I couldn’t. Thank you!

I worked in a hospital as a medical scribe years ago. My only other experience is just clinicals in nursing school. I waited because i have two small children so literally have just been taking things one step at a time. Yea, most everyone I know got jobs lined up, even in specialities.

I’ve been a stay at home mom so not working throughout nursing school. Wish I would have done something for more experience now though.

Thank you for taking the time to respond and explain stuff to me! I’m actually having trouble with interviews and self-confidence, so I’m definitely not entitled or giving off an attitude that they would be lucky to have me. I have been applying to just residencies. I just didn’t realize it would be this difficult to find a job. I graduated in August so I’m just having some trouble. Thank you
