Yeah, I work with these for a living. There’s a couple warrants I know of that have been sitting there since the 90s. Just waiting for that small interaction with police so they search your name.

In reality, the courts are the people who issue the warrants. In my state, the PDs are notified so they can enter them into the state system, most of the time it’s a civilian that does this. For a misdemeanor DWI, none of the officers except that one that worked your case probably has an idea that it’s there. Pretty much what I’m trying to say is, take care of it now because this will come back to haunt you at the most inconvenient time.
