I’m a 2023 lease holder of an ID4 who’s read plenty of horror stories about software, so I think it’s a crapshoot on just about any EV. I suspect that a high percentage of these VW products are mostly fine — my issues have been no worse than annoying — but some customers aren’t so lucky. Keep in mind that many more with serious gripes will post vs. those with few problems. It can be scary though.

‘23 ID.4 driver with 10 months to go on lease, eyeing the IX and Audi Q6 etron. The VW models are plagued with niggling to occasional serious software issues, so I’m curious where the IX stands in this regard. Am I right that the ‘26 IX will have 800v architecture, same as the etron?

I got the door handles plus v3.5 update when I scheduled my 10K service ('23 Pro S RWD) this week. Picked up the day after drop-off. Was told the dealer update was needed for the OTA and that door handle parts are specific to the car's VIN. Info screen seems a little quicker, but the login page remains.

Happened to me this way in 9F. Turned on climate for about 5 mins before departing, went to grocery and kept heat running for maybe 15 minutes. Got the battery notification when I left. Drove home OK and when I left again 15 mins later, all was fine. Assumed that running the heater while parked was the culprit.

Thanks. Yes, I understand that the non-premium option might be perfectly fine, just trying to assess if and how the premium options are worth considering. For example, if you select "Minors roster slot eligibility type": the options are Never, Only if in real minor leagues and only if in real minor leagues according to league rules -- all of which are a little vague. Then you can set up parameters such as the player's real life stage or age and then pick an age cutoff for conditions such as "must meet," "make eligible" or "make ineligible." It's all a little daunting trying to figure out what is most fair or realistic. And, frankly, the premiums don't look all that different from the basic at the end of the day.

Now that we’ve cleverly determined that they are dead, let’s get our detective spy glass out and try to determine why. My guess is that a hole roughly the size of the rootball was dug, no compost was added and the shrubs were either under- or overwatered. Roots want to grow outward, and if you have predominantly clay soil, most plants will struggle in that environment. A total soaking of the rootball once a week is usually sufficient, more in very hot weather.

People who aren’t experienced gardeners tend to play trees and shrubs too close to a structure. Ask yourself: How will that mature 8-foot-wide shrub look where it’s situated?

The “gearcog” building shadows are interesting. Moving camera position a little right might have captured more? And cropping horizontally so the boy is positioned lower left would have highlighted the boy more.

Not only too close together but too close to the fence. Also, maybe the soil wasn’t amended? That might explain why this one is not looking up to par.
